I heard about their donut cakes and since I first experienced donut cakes in Rhode Island, I've dreamed of being able to once again taste a sweet morsel. For my daughter and nephew's birthday, we decided to give Jack's donuts a try. We ordered 5 donut cakes ( we have a large family). I was told on the phone that they would each fit snugly I'm their famous Jack donuts purple boxes. A day before I was to pick up the cakes at 3pm, I was called and a frantic voice on the other line told me they didn't have blue sprinkles is there another color they could put on the cake? I said green and was met with silence. I asked if they had green and the male on the other end said he didn't know. So I said or red or orange or yellow, basically any color except pink or purple. They next day I picked up my cakes exactly at 3pm. The girl at the counter said they were over there and pointed to a table in the corner that they had been apparently waiting. One was in the small purple box I had expected and the other four were split up into two enormous boxes. When I looked at them, it was apparent that they had been sitting there for a while because the writing on the frosting was melting off. I am very disappointed at the way these cakes turned out. We spent a good chunk of change on these cakes and are not satisfied with them. I hope they...
Read moreI worked at this location for a year when it first opened (about 2 years ago) and though the donuts are still the same, it’s team members. I’ve been here a couple times recently and the first time was okay, the second time however; first of all, I was getting a dozen and I asked the lady helping me how many I had in there, she told me 12 and I said ok that’s perfect, I get back out to the car to only have 10. Granted, I personally wasn’t counting as I ordered, but I figured she would’ve at least correctly counted when I asked. Second of all, HALF OF MY DONUTS WERE THE WRONG ONES. My boyfriend went back in there because I didn’t want to seem rude, and according to him the girl who helped me got semi-yelled at because apparently this happens frequently. I will say, if it’s a new hire I completely understand, but there are still distinct ways to tell the difference between the donuts. Staff isn’t the same as it used to be as the original manager went to a Plainfield store. I feel like the employees need more training, most of the time it seems as if it they don’t care about their job or just want you out the store. Despite all of this, the donuts are still good! Team just needs more training and better customer service skills. Common sense would be a...
Read moreCustomer service left something to be desired and donuts tasted stale. Visited around 11am on a Saturday, so not sure if that affected my experience. However, I would not recommend this location. The woman who took my order made it clear she had no desire to be there and spoke maybe 3 words in total (and that was only because I asked her a question that couldn’t be answered with a head shake). I’ve been to this location a handful of times, and not once have they had their applesauce cake donuts available. In my opinion, those are their best donuts (in addition to being a unique flavor that sets them apart from other donut shops in the area). If you’re really craving Jack’s donuts, I suggest driving up to the location in Carmel. You’ll get much fresher donuts, a better selection, and service by employees who actually value...
