Disclaimer! Before I can review the pizza and a steak sandwich I feel my story of discovering this amazing restaurant needs to be told to put this review in it's perspective.
Here it goes..... We were traveling from OK to PA and had already driven 600 miles and 600 were to go when we felt the need to stop, take a break and eat. 50 minutes to Indianapolis which I have never visited before, I started looking at the Zabiha Halal options knowing it's a big city and once upon on a time it was the home of Payton Manning :)
I started calling random halal Google search resulted restaurant to ensure the validity of their halal claim and I was disappointed one after the other until Brother Aala answered the phone. Brother Aala ensure me the authenticity of their Zabiha Halal certification. I placed an order for their meat lover pizza and a steak sandwich. This should be the end of the story but no there is more.
After I place the order we started navigation the restaurant and we went to their 38th Street location not knowing that they have 2 locations. When we got there all tired and ready to eat the told us that our order is with the AVON branch.
We decided to go to AVON branch since we placed and order and it was supposed to be ready by 5 pm. It was sort of our fault sort of.....
But this is when the review is meaningful. The food was absolutely amazing. Brother Aala who later on mentioned is the son of the owner provided an excellent customer service. Big smile, courteous and caring we told him about our little story of visiting both branches.
He must have felt bad and as we were done eating, praising possible THE BEST FUSION pizza I have ever had and mind you I am from Brooklyn NY the home of Pizza as I lived on pizza living in NYC all my teenage life. This praise of the taste isn't coming from someone who isn't a chef nor someone who doesn't know an excellent pizza.
Let's get to the taste and why I believe this is the best fusion pizza I have ever had. The quality of the ingredients, the freshness of the ingredients. They used Garlic Aioli sauce as their base with a hint of marinara a pizza generously topped with all sorts of meats an absolute master piece of a concept.
If you are looking for a Zabiha Halal food look no further. This should be on your bucket list if you are from Indianapolis.
An amazing customer service experience with an equally praise worthy food.
Keep it...
Read morePLEASE READ!! I was a fan of this place, however we found out that they are very much NOT customer friendly. We were not allowed to be seated because we came 5minutes after the end of dining time, 905pm on Sunday. There were customers already eating, because they came earlier (before 9pm). We accepted their policy and didn't argue went outside and ate standing outside the store. After we are finished ~935pm, went back inside and wanted to express my feelings as a customer, asked for the manager and manager didn't come despite hearing us and the cashier at the counter didn't bother calling him and preferred arguing with us. I admit they are if not the best doing good Pizza, and I was coming hear from 1 hour drive (Purdue University) for their pizza. When I started expressing myself, instead of listening me the cashier started arguing back with me and keep insisting that this is their policy. Despite numerous times I expressed that I am not arguing over their policy (which I stepped outside and ate my food) I was trying to kindly ask them not to repeat this to anyone who didn't know about their policy beforehand. So the argument got hot, since the cashier didn't wanted to listen nor the manager (despite he was watching us - I guess he might have sensed what his employee/cashier was doing WRONG). Anyways, I told them that they lost me as a customer and asked them not to repeat this so they don't lose other customers. At the end of the day, there was another customer of theirs (despite we were known to them and regular customers for over a year now)got into our argument and stopped us from expressing and critiquing, which drove me crazy, as I couldn't make my point and end my conversation. Who can tell the difference between having right to sit and not having just for 5 minutes. That is not fair. Anyways, I am not trying to make anyone not go there, but just giving you heads up. I hope this comment...
Read moreI ordered delivery through Slice and it was a very bad experience. I left instructions to call once they arrived and they didnt call, nor knock, nor ring the doorbell. They just left the pizza on the ground outside which was there for a good 25-30 minutes cold and near cobwebs and bugs.
I called the restaurant itself multiple times. One time I called, the guy had to call another guy to get the number of the driver, he didn't already have it handy. And then the guy at the restaurant quickly hung up on me as if it was a burden to ask about what i paid for. Zero sense of customer service.
Worst of all, the pizza wasn't even good enough for all the drama. It is a bit fluffier/doughier than Papa John's but that's literally it. It wasn't breathtaking nor super flavorful. And with delivery the piece shot up to 2x the amount. It would've been $12 but ended up costing $23 with delivery fees and the tip that I shouldn't have given. DO NOT TIP ON SLICE.
I'd say if you eat here, go there. Or better yet, just stick with the major pizza chains or the local one called Toppers Pizza to get quality food AND...
