I just needed to charge my phone so I went in & asked & the waitress went & got the manager who was very professional & thoughtful & said yes ✨ Most places that have outdoor access don't have seating or benches by the outlet & many restaurants have blocked off the outlets that do have them 🤔 & as I see many reasons a place might close off a outlet I also can think 🤔of many scenarios a customer would not only have need to charge their phone while visiting a restaurant & my desire a place to sit down while doing it or talk privately away from other customers or just be outside in the sun while letting their food settle for desert I often get the impression that many owners don't take the extra time to really consider their customers needs or to just really think of how they can do the little things making every effort to provide an environment that's as worry free & welcoming for everyone & I as a person who has always considered it my responsibility as a customer to let anyone that is employed at any business I go to what as a customer how to improve something for me & why, I have not until recently as I've been taking the time to do reviews taken the time to really tell the business or employees how they get it right especially when comparing what I like about them that makes their place stand out over others & being able to see in words while typing these reviews I know has helped me realize the importance in both critiques for me to see which places are willing to take suggestions to improve & yet also give praise to the positive things that let the employer & employees know why I desire to return & why is rather spend my time & money at their place when deciding where to go When I see outlets at places closed off in whole areas or just at one business that makes me think many things about the area of town & the business like is it safe here or does the manager or people who train the employees not know how to simply teach them how to tell someone who may not be a customer in a professional that the outlets are for customers only at their own discretion I say all this in this review because I didn't purchase anything during this visit & yet I have many times in the past & Metro Diner does stand out as a place with great leadership & when customers are made to pay at other places for people who may take BAD advantage of something simple as being able to charge a phone or laptop it tells me the place doesn't have good leadership & doesn't truly care or at least doesn't know how to care for the customers So I just really desires to say a special Thank You to Metro Diner & their whole team as I will be returning to enjoy more smiles &...
Read moreWe ended up here for my birthday this year. Long story short, I was pregnant, wanting waffles, and wanting to try somewhere new. I saw pictures of the menu and knew it was a little more expensive for comort good but I knew friends who liked it so we gave it a try.
I was so excited to try their pulled pork mac stack. Cornbread waffle, mac and cheese, and pulled pork on one plate. This would hit so many pregnancy cravings. We went to order and they were out of pork. I wish I would have known that before becoming excited.
I ordered the Holy Davoli burger. Grilled cheese for buns? It's something I always thought would be amazing, but didn't want to be judged. Now was my chance with a well done burger. Not my first or second burger cooking choice, but it would have to do. My husband got the braised beef tips over mash. Someone else got fish and chips. Another got the special and I don't remember the last.
We all LOVED our food. Be warned, the portion sizes are large. My husband and I could have easily split my meal. I needed a second plate to figure out how to eat my burger. The server was also pretty quick and knowledgable about the menu. I just wish they would have mentioned what they were out of before it was time to order.
Went back here a few months ago. I was excited to try what I couldn't have last time; but it wasn't in the menu! I talked to the waitress and asked about it. She knew the menu item and talked to the chef and the chef said they could make it. I was so excited! It was yummy! A lot of food again. The cornbread waffle wasn't my favorite, but I'm glad I tried it. I would order the waffle again though to split.
The waitress was great working with my party and showed me how to put my carseat in the high chair. Once again, huge portions and knowledgeable staff. We went for lunch/brunch this time. Everyone...
Read moreThis was my favorite meal during my time in Indianapolis. The restaurant was clean and bright, and I loved the cute diner feel. Our server was very friendly and attentive.
We tried the coffee flavor of the day which was cinnamon hazelnut, and it was just okay. It was your typical diner coffee, nothing to write home about. Then we got mimosas, which were absolutely DELICIOUS. I got the sunrise mimosa, which had orange juice and grenadine. I couldn’t believe how good it was, it was the best mimosa I’ve ever had. And it was less than $5.00! My boyfriend got the apple mimosa, and that one was also very good.
I got the fried chicken and waffles and it was extremely delicious. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was so crispy and juicy and flavorful. The waffle was also cooked perfectly, it was slightly crisp on the outside and super fluffy inside. The strawberry butter was delicious. My boyfriend got the shrimp and grits and he really enjoyed it. They also give you a good amount of food for the price. The chicken and waffles came with two chicken breasts and two wings (I asked for white meat).
I don’t have anything negative to say about this place. I would absolutely come back here if I’m ever in...
