Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet — Restaurant in Indianapolis

the most disappointing experience i have ever had at this place. i even made a google account just to leave a review.

i went with three of my friends for dinner today, one of which has never been to an asian buffet, and upon entry the water from the koi pond was splashed everywhere, and the restaurant stunk. it was a foul musty mildew odor.

regardless, we sat down for the buffet with our plates, and the first bite we all had was luke warm at best. if you’re having the best day ever you might be able to call it just warm. so we ate a very little amount, the majority of the food was flavorless, soggy, and depressing.

by the end of it, my friend had bitten their sausage to notice that it was pink in the middle! on that note, we all agreed and decided that we were done there. all of us also agreed that the bill should be fully comped because we barely ate anything, will leave hungry, and maybe sick!

so, i went to the counter to try and get the bill comped, i was absolutely nothing but respectful and courteous. (he had a black bowl haircut) the gentleman who was our waiter was an absolute sweetheart, with a smile on his face and happy to help. i told him initially how we felt about the food, and he agreed and respected us entirely, as well as informed us that yes, the bill can be taken care of and he got his manager.

the manager on the other end, seemed almost annoyed or aggravated by what we were asking. i ensured to include in my conversation with him not only the food quality, but that we had been here numerous times previously and had never been this disappointed.

i fully believe even now that at the very most my group of four should have been charged only for one plate. however, initially the manager wanted us to pay the full $70!!!! for maybe ten bites of food and a half of plate that my boyfriend ate. however, i did offer him $30 at the most, anything more i viewed to be quite frankly unfair and ridiculous. he ended up behaving in a frantic and agitated manor, and said that the minimum would be $50.

we’re all broke college students who are still hungry and with $50 less.

Today, my family and I came here to eat and had the same old woman who always serves the left side. there’s this only guy who serves the right side and I recommend sitting on his side instead to be served! He actually makes sure you’re good! but today, while we were here, we thought we didn’t have a server at first because nobody ever came to clean our table or refill our drinks.. till the server finally came over to take the plates WITH our check even tho we’ve only been there for 20 min. We continued to eat, finally when we were ready to pay she saw us and came over to our table for the card with the card holder tht has fortune cookies in them to take to the reception. I gave her a 5 first in cash, she jus looked at me even tho I said “tip”, she turned to my mom instead expecting a bigger tip. my mom gave her the same 5$ I gave her because she never took it lol, that’s when she aggressively put down the card holder on our table, gave attitude n told me to go to the front myself to pay, took the tip and left. So that’s what I did, i went up, asked for her name in the front to complain, because this is all she does …. Everytime we eat here, never does anything but complain for tip! the audacity to even ask for tip??knowing she doesn’t even do her job right? But then the receptionist told me that was the owners wife and they didn’t even know what her name was, that’s when it made sense why she isn’t fired yet. Imagine being this way to your customers...

My review would've been 5 stars if it wasn't for our server!! Food was great and I was delighted with all the variety and the Hibachi where you get to pick exactly what and how much you want cooked. However, it was all ruined after our waitress disrespectfully left the bill and said "thank you, thank you for coming" (basically like "pay and go"). Mind you we were still eating like our SECOND plate!! I can't tell you how many times she passed by and stared and stared and stared at the bill. I mean is not like we were going to leave without paying! We usually pay when we are done eating. It was just ridiculous. I decided to take the bill and put it on the other side of the table so she could stop looking at us but that did not stop her. I never felt so rushed to leave in my life!! It was soooo annoying. After we were about to be done with dessert we put the card on the bill and she came like a ray to the table to grab the payment and left the empty plates behind!! Then she came back with the receipt and stared the whole time while my fiancée was writing the tip. I asked her at what time they close; maybe that was the rush. She said 9:30pm and it was 8:00pm still! Even a guy that was seated in the table behind us got up and left while still chewing his food!! Shows you how annoying that woman was! It's so sad that the great time we were having had to end like this. I don't think...
