Midday Deli & Catering — Restaurant in Indianapolis

First time here. Ordered the chicken chili as a carryout. I expected it to be white chicken chili but it was tomato based. My fault. Chili was very thin with hardy any chicken, I had to fish for it! Very sparse ingredients. I'm not sure what happened but it was close to closing time so maybe this was a bottom of the barrel bowl of chili. Seriously it was mostly broth. As for the taste, it's bitter. It's not horrible...kinda meh. The tiny pieces of tomato tasted fairly fresh. This tastes and looks more like a can of Campbell's tomato soup with added chicken cubes and a few beans. I expected more from a $7 bowl of chili. Nope, not going back based on this. I wanted to like this place! What a waste of money. I added some cheese to help thicken it up and provide flavor but I don't think I can work with it. The rest of it is going in the trash. Amazing, my friend recommended the place and I am glad he did. He goes almost daily for their soups, I have not tried the soup yet but I will on my next visit. I had the special which was a ham sandwich with cheese and peaches, yes PEACHES!!! That was one of the best tasting sandwiches I have had ever. My whole meal with a side of amazing pasta and a fountain drink was only $7.25!! You wouldn't necessarily notice this place driving by but if you dont stop you will be cheating yourself out of some of the best food in your life!! Give it a try and I am sure you will not regret the visit. The staff is just as great as the food, I think the are making the food with their own love...

I love eating here. The restaurant is small and has a small town feel. The employees are the best. Always have a smile and ready to help with your order and answer any questions. The food is AWESOME! Their sandwiches are so flavorful and filling! The daily specials are fun! I always look forward to see what new items they will have. My favorite food item is the chicken chili. If you haven't tried it - you should. It really is great chili! Thank you Midday for offering great food...
