⚠️ MOST OF THE REVIEWS ARE FROM PREVIOUS OWNERS “PETRAS CAFE” NOT NOOR! You can see the difference. ⚠️
According to the photos from previous reviews, we decided to come here and try. I stated It’s been awhile since I visited and was told they are the new owners, it was previously known as Petras, and how their food is all fresh and not frozen. I was shocked as I know the previous owners made everything fresh. There was some confusion regarding the pricing and as I was attempting to get clarity, the owners wife was overtalking me completely. Once we ordered we didn’t have a long wait, about 10 minutes. I made the mistake of not opening my food until I got home because the bag was knotted, to be extremely DISAPPOINTED with the pinch of fries that came in the Combo. Once inspecting the Gyro I was upset to see that there were a few slices of meat laid flat and a tremendous amount of lettuce. We did ask for extra Taziki sauce which was uncharacteristically made with just yogurt and dill. Not traditional and definitely NOT flavorful like Petras. The previous owner were actually from Jordan which is why their food was amazing! The new owners are of Indian descent so are unfamiliar with authentic Mediterranean flavors and tradition. Which showed through the professionalism and FOOD.
My family and I will NOT RETURN. You’re definitely better off going to Jordan’s or another place for Gyros. I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreOur experience at Noor Cafe was top notch. From answering all of our questions/ making suggestions for accommodations based on our preferences, to the incredible presentation & quality of the food, to the immense flavors & (very generous) quantity on our plates, 2+ weeks later & we can not stop thinking, or raving, about our meal.🧆
Despite being an-order-at-the-counter setup, the owners/ chefs served us like a sit-down & were genuinely interested in our experience & feedback throughout the evening & each course we tried. My husband doesn't have a lot of experience with Mediterranean dishes, & came in thinking he did not like lamb... but we both fell in love with everything we tasted (well, savored). AND my husband was raving about the lamb to the point that he plans to go back for lamb kebobs, only; he's a convert!🏅
I've labeled each photo with what we ordered, but our favorites were definitely the mixed kebobs: the meat is so well-seasoned & cooked, with delicious veggies & rice, & Greek salad to accompany it. (Also, I haven't stopped thinking about their Garlic & Tzatziki sauces... I want to try them on everything I eat... ever! 😂)
Any complaints in other reviews about the time it takes (though we didn't wait more than 15 minutes for each component) clearly do not appreciate superior, made-to-order food. Visit Noor Cafe, ASAP, & experience it for yourself. (And tell them Cory & Chapin...
Read moreCame here during last stop on tour in Indianapolis looking at properties around Fishers/Carmel and had a taste inclination for a good gyro. This place did not disappoint. I love how the Cook inquired about the heat level we wanted for our plate and made it just perfect. The dish itself was great value, coming with a salad, fantastic rice, and great meat.
Two things that really stood out were the tzatziki sauce - it was definitely homemade and just the right amount of spices. I wish I had taken some to go home to be used as a treat for my meat dishes. It was creamy, somewhat salty and garlicky. My goodness!
Secondly, again - the meat was cooked to perfection, not too oily without being dry [it chewed wonderfully], and just the right amount of saltiness and flavor. It was all made to order fresh. I wish I had found this place sooner because I'd be coming here for dinner every day.
One thing that would've been more strategic to the dish in my opinion was the opportunity to swap out the rice for fries, since one of our members was not big on rice, and surely we could've asked for that but did not want to bother since it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu.
Overall, this was some of the better gyro/kebab avenue's we've ate...
