A group of 12 of us came in to this establishment this past Friday evening around 9:30pm. We were stopping in for a drink and a couple of appetizers before hitting the road back home. We came to Speedway that night for a birthday to Go-kart down the street and we had been to O'Reilly's a couple of times before over the years along with a couple of other places on the same street so we decided to stop in. When we got to the Pub, we were greeted by a very sweet waitress that sat 7 of our party at a long table in the dining area. The other 5 of us ended up going over to a high-top table by the open window/ garage door so we could be by the air flow since it was a little warm. Our high-top table was just going to order a drink or two and that was it.. No one was in any way, or obstructing any aisles or anything. Within about 5 mins, the male bartender came over and as he approached he was greeted by one of us with a 'hello', and his immediate response was ' sooo, we don't have a server over here, and we responded with, no problem, we can come up to the bar to order. He then also says, And what we're NOT going to do is be in the aisles and standing around and crowding and stuff. Instantly you probably could see the look on several of our faces by the shock of how we were being spoken to all of a sudden. Considering that we came in very polite, happy and normal and in a great mood. Myself immediately responded with, oh, no problem, we wouldn't do that to you guys, we know what it's like. (several at our table have worked in the service industry). His response was, ok, so your NOT going to have more people come in and just hang out. I responded, with, No, we are not! They are over there at their own table. The Bartender then proceeded to sav, um OK, lies. In a smart a** tone and you could tell with his facial expression that he was not joking. At this point our whole table was not happy with how this bartender was speaking to us, especially for no reason, no justification, what so ever. A couple of us at this point excused ourselves and told our friends at the other table that we were not staying at this establishment and that we would be outside. We went outside and within 3 mins all 12 of us were outside leaving and were all just dumbfounded about the treatment we were just given by this bartender. The sad part is, the waitress was very nice and apologized for his behavior more than once. She was obviously used to it. The other sad part was, this was NOT the first time this has been witnessed about this bartender. Others have made this complaint and hoped it had just been a one off ' he's just having a bad night type of thing', but apparently not. All 12 of us went down to Dawson's where their Bartenders were happy to see us and greeted us with smiles and treated us kindly and with respect, even with a FULL bar. We patiently waited, and some of us sat in the bar area and some of us sat outside on their lovely patio area. We stayed for about an hour and we made sure to tip those wonderful bartenders at Dawson's double what we would have tipped at O'Reilly's. And see, since most of us had also been bartenders , we never tip below 20% even as an average. So your bartenders missed out on 40% tips, because ONE bartender wanted to be a jerk for no reason! Our Group will not be back! Do...
Read moreI went to my work christmas party and afterwards a few of us got together for drinks here. We got there about 11:30- 11:45 pm we did not leave until almost 2am mainly because the service sucked so bad. We waited over 45 minutes for a waitress to show up to even take our drink order which btw never showed. Half our table got their food an hour later another waitress took the rest of our tables order. I was told by the bartender that our waitress was too busy after 45 minutes because another table was causing problems with their bill and that we should just wait. Half of our group left because the service was so bad. The other waitress that took our order apologized repeatedly to me and said she didnt understand what the problem was because she asked our waitress twice to take our order and she never showed. Then someone had broke glass on the ground next to me and I was wearing heels I waited 20 minutes before grabbing the broom myself to sweep it up so I wouldnt get cut. The bartender said I shouldnt be sweeping it up that it was their job and I was apparently barefoot and pregnant which I was neither. I told informed her that all I would really like is someone to take my order. I was told I would have to wait. I understand it was really busy which is why I didnt get too upset however MANAGEMENT if you read these reviews. IT'S DECEMBER and youre located next to the grand wayne center and the st francis performing art center, lots of companies book holiday parties there and want to follow up at a bar which happened to be the case this past saturday. 2 WAITRESSES ON SATURDAY NIGHT IN DECEMBER IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS......
Read moreLet me start off by saying we understand it was race day, but we were there before the race ended, and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. We got there and we were handed menus and told to seat ourselves. I’m fine with that. We saw a server and my wife was drinking a beverage from outside the restaurant and told she couldn’t do that. Again, fine with that, my wife took it out of the restaurant and disposed of it.
We sat down at one of their outdoor seating tables and waited. 15 minutes passed and the server didn’t come back. The table had not yet been bussed as well, so we did it ourselves. Another 10 minutes after that passed and still no one.
We thought that we might get better service if we went inside. After we sat down, we were approached by the hostess who asked if we needed anything, to which we replied yes, but she stated that she was unable to help us and would find a server. After another 10 minutes, finally a server approached and asked if we needed anything. Admittedly, I replied with frustration. I did not cuss and was not disrespectful, but might have seemed sarcastic because of the lack of service so far. Anyway, we placed our order and the server left. She came back 5 minutes later to tell us that both of the food items we ordered, they did not have. At that point we left, and I did cuss stating that “all I wanted was some f’ing food.” I think we were being told that because they didn’t want to serve us. AITA?
I feel like we were being reasonable by seating ourselves twice and bussing our own table, especially since it was at least another 45 minutes before the race crowd showed up and they weren’t...
