Wonderful and friendly staff, tasty homemade ice cream (sourced locally)!
The following review is on ice cream flavors:
Ice cream flight - pictured from top left: Mud pie (oreo + coffee ice cream) Top right: Turkish coffee Bottom left: Hoosier buckeye Bottom right: blueberry cheesecake
My ratings: blueberry cheesecake 5/5, the best. The blueberry compote was not gummy/processed but slightly runny and rich in flavor. The cheesecake ice cream was soooo good. You can actually taste the tang of the cream cheese (no chunks).
Turkish coffee: 4.6/5 -- delicious! I drink Turkish coffee so the only thing stopping it from perfection is that it simply tastes like coffee ice cream -- but it's a darn good coffee ice cream!
Oreo mud pie - 3/5. The cookie pieces are nice but the texture isn't the greatest and I couldn't detect much coffee. Still, not a bad choice if you like oreos
Hoosier buckeye - 3/5. The peanut butter flavor of the ice cream is really nice but the buckeye pieces are awkward and large. (Basically dime sized pieces of frozen chocolate with some PB inside). I've never been a fan of large pieces of chocolate in ice cream because they take a while to melt so you're pretty much crunching on frozen chocolate. The flavors don't come out because it's frozen.
Overall, this place is awesome! I broke down flavor reviews because I'm a foodie but I'm sure you'll find an ice cream here that delights you. I really wanted to try cinnamon and Graham but um, I already had 4...

Read moreReached out to Scoop Shack with only a week and a half notice to host a children's birthday party and I'm so glad that I did. We were able to work with them to create an adorable and delicious ice cream cake and a memorable birthday experiences for my child and all of their friends. Scoop Shack handled all the details including decorations, hosting, games, and crafts for 8-10 kids. Everyone had a blast, I didn't have to do anything besides show up with my child, and the price was EXTREMELY reasonable. We've always loved Scoop Shack, but the birthday experience was truly above and beyond what we could have hoped for at the price point. Would absolutely recommend to EVERYONE. We'll definitely use them again in the future. Cannot say enough positive things about the staff...
