Asian Bistro – A Clean, Cozy Spot with Room for Improvement
Asian Bistro is a small yet inviting establishment featuring a compact dining area with both booth and table seating. The open kitchen allows guests to see their food being prepared, and the restaurant maintains a spotless appearance. Parking is free and plentiful, making access convenient. We arrived around noon and were surprised to find only one other dine-in customer. While a few carryout orders were placed during our visit, the dining room remained empty. Excited to sample a variety of dishes, we ordered a few appetizers and entrees to get a full experience. For starters, we chose the Crab Rangoon (6 pieces) and Spring Rolls (2 rolls). The Crab Rangoon was a highlight—crispy, flavorful, and delicious. However, the spring rolls were disappointingly small and average in taste. For sushi, I decided on the “American Dream Roll,” which was decent but didn’t leave a lasting impression. Moving on to entrees, my wife ordered Chicken Pad Thai with a side of miso soup, while I went for the Sweet and Sour Chicken with white rice. Unfortunately, neither of us were particularly impressed with our meals. My wife found the miso soup too fishy—enough that she had to send it back—and her Pad Thai lacked the bold flavors she was hoping for. My Sweet and Sour Chicken was generous in portion but ultimately underwhelming. Despite the lackluster food, there were positives. The service was outstanding, and the restaurant’s decor was tasteful and inviting. Cleanliness was top-notch, which is always a plus.
Overall, while our experience wasn’t terrible, the food left something to be desired. Perhaps with time, they’ll refine their flavors, and we’ll give it another shot. But for now, it’s a “two passes” from us. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Subject: Response to Your Handling of Customer Feedback
Asian Bistro, I am following up regarding your response to a review left by N. Kamran. She was indeed at your restaurant, dining with me. While I understand that feedback—especially critical feedback—can be difficult to receive, dismissing it outright is neither productive nor professional.
The food was, at best, average and certainly not memorable. We did take it home, only to discard it later. No one is trying to destroy anyone’s dream, but honest reviews should be acknowledged, not deflected. As you yourself admitted in response to my review, you knew the food “wasn’t right.” If that’s the case, then why not focus on improvement instead of attempting to discredit valid customer opinions?
My companion may have been more blunt in her critique, but that does not make her feedback any less legitimate. Constructive criticism exists to help businesses grow, not to tear them down. However, instead of addressing the concerns professionally, your response was defensive and dismissive. And as you so ironically put it—“what goes around comes around.”
Congratulations—you’ve managed to do what no other restaurant has ever done: convince me to lower my review score. Excellent customer service indeed. (And yes, my...
Read moreThis restaurant atmosphere is very clean and cozy, but it is a bit crowded and small. It is a bistro, however, and that's how bistro are generally styled. It's not very busy so it having less space doesn't disturb me too much.
The food was amazing. I recommend the lemon pepper chicken wings as I typically like my chicken more sweet than sour. Yes, it does deviate from your traditional lemon pepper flavor as it's less pepper and more sugar. That's just what I prefer, though. I tried some of their sushi and they were what you would expect. Not super high quality but it's not bad at all. The cooked ones with the crab meat are probably the best they have to offer. FYI, their Wasabi isn't very spicy and you'd need a lot of it for that kick we really like. I also tried their fried fish which was very good, actually. The fish was perfectly battered and there was this slightly lingering cod taste that I really enjoyed. Very good with the tartar sauce. I also tried their pad Thai which was certainly Thai style. It's sweet and peanuty, and omg, it was actually a divine experience. I love this dish.
I also tried a variety of their drinks. They're very Mellow and sweet overall. I tried the mango Boba one but you can't really taste the mango. I recommend going the more traditional route with Thai and matcha with the drinks. Those have the best flavor.
I will be coming back very often for their wings and crab meat sushi!!! (As well as that superb...
Read moreWe went over on a Saturday night to get some carry out and I truly can't say enough good things about this little restaurant. It would be great for a week night dinner out too. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was absolute incredible. I wasn't sure what to order and they suggested the the Thai Basil Chicken. It was fabulous! We also did an order of General Tso's and chose the fried rice as a side - it was some of the best fried rice we have ever had. Tasted so, so fresh! We also added a spicy tuna roll just to see how the sushi tasted and it was good, not out of this world but solid.
My oldest son doesn't love Chinese so I was very happy to see a fried fish sandwich option on the menu. He said it was excellent (and he is hard to please)! What blew me away was the price. Not sure why, but they gave me a discount. All in, it was $45 for all of us to eat and we have SO much leftover. We will definitely be able to get another full meal out of this another night. When we go to Chick-fil-a these days, for all 4 of us to eat, it is usually $50 and no leftovers. We feel like it was a total win trying Asian Bistro and are going to put this in our regular rotation! Great little restaurant...
