I do not know what is happening at this location but the food quality/cooking is tanking. Has been reliably excellent for several years- my fav mexican restaurant.
The past three times I have been here in two-three months I ordered fajitas. The onions and peppers have been close to raw - uncooked- no heat caramelizing of them which is what gives the fajitas their wonderful delicious flavors. I am not eating a salad w rubber meat & raw vegetables when I order fajitas? No seasoning taste either. Just very bland fajitas w very underwhelming, undercooked vegetables. The meat/shrimp has been bland, very tough, & very rubbery lately- usually very flavorful due to the caramelizing of the vegetables and so deliciously seasoned, and tender. Not anymore.
You need to hire a cook that actually knows how to cook fajitas in the correct, proper way. The cook you have now is substandard and does not know how to even caramelize onions and peppers correctly for fajitas, how to season fajitas correctly, nor how to create tender meat for fajitas anymore.
Maybe ppl at this location are now cutting food quality/cooking corners, don’t actually appreciate their loyal, repeat customers/care about their repeat customers anymore/food quality anymore, have become completely apathetic/indifferent to their prior usual success.
I have noticed it is just not as crowded as it used to be and apparently it’s not just me thinking that this location is going downhill now.
I am now so done w this location because I am so not continually giving them my hard earned money for sub standard cooking/sub standard food quality/sub standard food presentation anymore.
I used to absolutely love this place - I have supported them/given them business for over a decade.
Now they are just indifferent to their loyal customers/indifferent to their food quality/cooking- so sloppy, and so careless.
Wait staff has always been excellent/attentive- hence...
Read moreMy grandson and I were in this part of the city visiting Paiges music store, when we decided to get something to eat. We decided on Mexican food and found this place. It sounded good so that's where we went. When we entered, we were seated immediately, given menus as well as chips and salsa. The lovely waitress asked us for our drink order. She brought our drinks very quickly and saw we were still looking at the menu. She didn't rush us with our order and waited until it was clear we were finished looking before asking what we would like. I was unsure how to pronounce the dish I wanted, she very politely told me how to pronounce it and then asked for my grandsons order. She took the menus from the table leaving us plenty of room to enjoy the chips and salsa while we waited for our food. The food arrived very quickly. Everything was fresh and served piping hot. I still don't know exactly what I ordered was called but it was shrimp over rice with plenty of cheese sauce along with some nice warm soft tortillas. My grandson ordered basically the same dish except his had steak and chicken as well as shrimp. The restaurant was clean and relatively quiet with nice music playing in the background. There was also several televisions placed throughout the restaurant that were visible from multiple angles. The food tasted delicious and the portions were very generous. The prices were very reasonable. The restroom was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our meal very much and should we find ourselves in that area of the city again we will definitely...
Read moreOne of the better Mexican food spots I have been to. We started with the basic chips and salsa and requested to have some queso and chorizo brought to the table along with some hotter salsa. The hotter salsa was not as flavorful as the regular so we decided to mix it at that point in time. The result was quite tasty. The queso with chorizo provided to us contains very large chunks of chorizo cooked properly and the oil from the chorizo was mixed in with the queso.
For drinks I ordered a horchata and a lemonade. The horchata was quite flavorful and in a very large glass as seen in the photo.
For an entree I ordered the two person large fajita dinner. The dinner contained steak, shrimp, large chunks of pork, chorizo, and chicken. The rice was flavorful. I added the chorizo and queso to the bottom of the tortilla while building my fajitas one at a time. The shrimp was cooked properly. The pork was phenomenal. The steak and chicken were as expected. I was not a fan of the chorizo on the plate.
For dessert we ordered sopapilla which was just a flour tortilla deep fried little bit of honey, powdered sugar, whipped cream and a cherry.
The largest positive for this meal outside of the flavorful meats as part of the fajitas and the great horchata is the fact of the value of the meal. We had so much good tasting food for such a little price it is a definite recommend...
