Where do I begin.. My husband and I decided to check out this location since we are huge fans of the New Palestine location. We sat at the bar it took several minutes to be greeted (we were the only ones in the bar by the way) we place our drink order then go ahead and then ask for the creamy Jalapeño sauce to go with our chips we were told no they don’t have that at there location so we were okay with that. So we ordered our favorite the El Torro Nachos no lettuce, while waiting we both went to wash our hands there were no paper towels so we grabbed some bar napkins to dry our hands. Our Nachos get delivered to us and guess what there was lettuce on them, so we sat there waiting for our server to come back after about 5 minutes I finally got up with my nachos and had to walk to the back of the restaurant to find her. She said she would put a new order in for us. So the next plate of nachos came out but this time there is no guacamole or sour cream on them. We at this point were very disappointed. We both ate a couple and both agreed they were absolutely horrible nothing even close to the New Palestine location. So why we were going through that we both realize we did not have silverware or napkins so I proceeded to ask the bartender for some silverware and napkins. She gave them to us when we opened up our napkin with the silverware the silverware was filthy dirty.. We were so over it by this point. I forgot to also mention they did not have the TV on in the bar. The whole experience sucked we will never go back to this location. It’s obvious that all of there locations do not follow the same recipes.. do your self a favor and avoid...
Read moreI had a Sweet 16 birthday dinner for my daughter, and it was a disaster. We were assigned a brand-new waiter who clearly wasn’t ready for a party of 20. I couldn’t even get silverware, so my food got cold while I waited. When the food finally arrived, it didn’t look right, and we had complaint after complaint about the dishes we received.
To make matters worse, at the end of the event, there were issues with the bill. They overcharged me for other people’s food, and I had to sit there and go back and forth with customer service to get it sorted. Breaking things down, providing receipts, and ensuring everything is accurate should be a basic expectation—yet here I was, stressed and angry on what was supposed to be a special day for my daughter.
The most frustrating part was having to constantly ask for things that should have been automatic, like silverware! That’s basic customer service. If you know a party of 20 is coming in, why would you assign a new waiter with no experience? Several of my guests even commented on how we had to keep asking for the simplest things.
The only positives? The decor was nice, and the bathroom was clean—but that’s it. This place completely ruined my daughter’s Sweet 16. I was recommended this restaurant, but I would never, ever recommend it to anyone else. My final takeaway? DO NOT host a party here. Hands down, I...
Read moreToday was very disappointing. We never got our queso for our appetizer, the house margarita that smokes with dry ice didn't smoke bc there was no dry ice. I invited someone who had never been to El Toro so it was embarrassing. I bragged about the food but today something was off. My nephew got his food before I got mines and we walked in together. I ordered my favorite Arroz con Pollo...I think that's the name? It comes with rice, chicken and queso, well when I finally got mine it was not hot,the chicken was not seasoned at all. It was a very disappointing day at El Toro. I asked to speak to management as management is always so kind and welcoming. I was told management wasn't there and I came to the conclusion that because of their absence that had to be the reason the food, service and experience was not good. It was pretty empty during our visit, couldn't understand why service was so slow. Although the waitress apologized, didn't charge me for the extra queso it doesn't change the fact that when people order, they want what they order and the experience that comes with it. Smokey margaritas should smoke...it's...
