Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I had hoped my experience would be better but after this morning I am giving them no more chances. This last incident is it. I have to say David is one of the rudest people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. When it was time to give my order through the drive thru I asked him if they were serving milkshakes and he caught an attitude telling me they serve them 24/7. I explained that I was asking because the one I had visited before them wasn't serving milkshakes and that's what I really wanted. I let that go and went on to order my meal(which came with a drink) and then when he asked if I wanted anything else I ordered my milkshake. It didn't hit me until I got to the window that he never asked what I wanted for a drink with my meal. I said something to him about what I wanted to drink and he caught an attitude saying my milkshake was the drink and that if I wanted it separate I should have specified it myself. I explained to him that it was on him because he assumed the milkshake I ordered after the fact was what I wanted for a drink. He caught an attitude and kept trying to scold me saying it was my fault and I wouldn't let him. I told him he never asked and if he had, he would have known they were separate. I won't be going back to this location. The only reason I went to that one this time was because the one I normally go to wasn't serving milkshakes. They have their fair share of problems at the one farther down Washington street but they make up for any inconvienience with great service. I have never had any real problems at that location and I guess next time I'll just settle for not getting a milkshake. It'll be worth it compared to going back to this location. Update: this location was robbed during third shift recently therefore the dining room is closed at 11pm daily however the drive-thru is open.

Please note that I've visited this particular location mutiple times before posting this review so please read it all. Unfortunately this is one of those places that one bad apple has ruined it for the rest of the staff. On the 3rd shift there is one employee, Dave, who is a cook but it's evident by his bossier than warranted demeanor towards not just the staff but the customers that he apparently has somewhat of an authoritative position. Personally I've experienced him grabbing the check out of my hand while reading it, telling me that the total is incorrect and charging me more than the receipt total, not kosher if you ask me. I've seen him get angry at a customer because they were charging their phone in an open outlet that was in the customer area, not behind the counter whatsoever. When he was asked as to why he got into an argument with the customer until he finally kicked the customer out and called the cops stating the customer threatened him. I happened to be standing nearby the entire confrontation and there were no threats ever uttered by the customer. If you dare to customize your milkshake I'd highly suggest someone other than Dave make it because your customizations will be dismissed entirely. Came here expecting fast food service aka not perfect service but still satisfactory, and was not happy. I ordered my meals and had the woman over the intercom read them back to me and she had no issues taking my order. Waited 8 minutes to get up to the window for my food and they gave me the wrong food. I walked in, got my food fixed in less than 5 minutes and I wasn't angry because I understand things happen. Walked back out to my car and my husband says his Carmel nut milkshake is a banana milkshake. Walked in there again, frustrated with them. Waited 6 minutes to get another shake. Asked for a refund for just the milkshake and was told "But I watched them make your shake." Lady, I don't care if you just watched them make it. I want my money back I had to walk in here twice. Wait another 3 minutes for her to come back from asking higher management for permission and get my money back. I think things are okay and I go home. I come back and my fries are stale, old and cold; and my cheeseburger had toppings I specifically didn't ask to have on there.
