Food and recipes were fantastic with generous servings. Prices were a little high, but not outrageous. Service was very poor for the size of the establishment. Server didn't check back until we were about finished. Never refilled my water... When I asked for a refill, she brought me an entire carafe and did not pour it for me. She just put it on the table. When she was clearing our plates, she dropped one of our forks on the table, and there was now egg salad on the table. Our young server came back into our room with a spray bottle and a rag, we thought that she was going to clean up the egg salad that she spilled. Nope. She proceeded to spray and wipe down the table next to us. I had to ask for napkins and clean up the mess ourselves. Not a big deal..... And if it was only that, it wouldn't be mentioned. But service was substandard for sure. Many things on the menu change and there were a few specials... After waiting for some time for her to come back and take our order, she just asked what we wanted. We needed to ask her what the specials were, what the soups were, etc. Also, as a patron, I recommend that you wear a sweater. And maybe long pants, socks, etcetera. We visited in late april, and even though it was 60° outside, it was just as cold inside with the cold air conditioning blowing up out of...
Read moreI write this review in the comforts of a home. You may ask yourself who cares? Well, you should! What I mean is that the atmosphere of Tams is so relaxing and home-like that when you eat here you feel like you are eating at home. From the welcoming staff treating you like family to the home-made food. Your mindset is just consistently at ease. However service and atmosphere is just a small glimpse of what we seek as we try to delight our palette with delicious and nutritious foods. At Tams not only will you do that but you will be left craving for more despite your stomach saying “Hey guys I’m stuffed!”
As a patron who has visited twice now, I can say that the creative spin of biscuits and gravy with chorizo sausage is delicious! The texture perfected! The taste fusing so well! The coffee has such a flavorful roast! I find myself rambling on about this place but there isn’t much I can complain about… except I wish it was closer so I could eat here more often! Lol! The quiche is one of the best quiches I have eaten! I look forward to visiting again!
To any family or individuals that want to feel at home while they eat then Tams is the...
Read moreTam's is a small, operated restaurant that serves delicious breakfast and lunch food as well as sweet treats. It is located in an older house that has been turned into a cafe.
Tam's serves coffee and teas as well as sodas to drink. I've tried a few things from Tam's including the Loaded Potatoes and most recently, the Norris Hash. The hash has potatoes, sausage, spinach, fresh tomatoes, onions, green peppers, 2 eggs and toast. It was on the Sunday specials menu and was well worth it as it sold out as I was leaving around 11:20am.
The staff is always accommodating and hospitable. Every time I've visited the staff always makes sure I have all I need while I am there. Nancy, the cook is a wizard in the kitchen while cooking with a conventional oven and more standard home kitchen appliances.
The best I can describe the experience is like when you go to your mom's house for lunch or breakfast, and you get that warm reception and care. I highly recommend eating here to anyone that wants a small-town restaurant experience where smaller details are...
