Thought about this for 2 days since it occurred and decided to amend my review (I'd given it a 5) because I'm really bothered by it. The bartenders ARE friendly, bloody Mary mix IS the same as I use at home and they are good here, and the seasoning on the French fries really does make the ho hum much better. However...., we had 2 orders of fries--1 smothered. I had 2 drinks. Hubby had 1. Told the bartender we were going to go outside to smoke and left my card asking her to take out for 1 more each, and we'd be right back inside. We came back in, the check was there to sign along with 2 drinks. I added a tip and signed. Problem is this.... it's not that the bill was high---because it wasn't, but we were charged for 3 drinks a piece and the fries....1 too many drinks. No huge deal, but I did let her know when she reached for the signed check that I'd been overcharged, but the easy fix was to just give him the other drink. She said, "Ok, sorry, but I didn't get the drink for you by yourself, or run your card." That's cool, but you got every other drink we had and our fries, and you're the one I gave my card and told to add 2 and ring us up. You're also the one I told there was a problem and an easy no fault way to make it right. However, YOU are also the ONE who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to correct the problem because we didn't get the missing drink, or the money refunded. So.... as far as I'm concerned, YOU are the ONE who probably takes advantage of a drunk, charging them for drinks they don't have when they're too intoxicated to know so if you frequent the Thirsty Turtle, you might really want to watch running a tab because not only will they charge you for things you didn't get, but they won't correct their mistake when you call them on it. As far as we're concerned, we won't be back and besides the drink you charged us for that we didn't get, I'm a good tipper, and you certainly didn't deserve a tip for not correcting a mistake whether you made it, or the other bartender did. You were responsible because you were the one I gave my card to, and the one who was told the error needed corrected....
Read moreI was impressed by the good food, and low beer/Good prices. I was also impressed with the professional attitude of the bartenders EXCEPT for one named Theresa who worked last night on Tuesday April 10th, 2018. My last experience with Theresa was when I tipped Her $5.00, and she did NOT thank me. I let it go, and forgave Her.
Last night on April 10th, 2018 I was RUDELY GREATED by Theresa who said: What do you want instead of a warm hello Kurt. Then Theresa served me alcohol I didn't order. I just quietly accepted it telling Her Politely I said NO I WASN'T READY WHEN YOU ASKED ME. She said I was wrong.
I then started thinking about Her Negative Attitude, and became angry. I told Her TWICE I wanted to Cash Out but she ignored me. I then walked out side, and Theresa immediately sent a bar patron out yelling at me telling me to pay.
This type of Unprofessional Behaviour is what DESTROYS BUSINESSES. I go to the Thirsty Turtle to unwind after a long day. Not to be DELIBERATELY DIRESPECTED BY AN OBVIOUS INTOXICATED BARTENDER WHO DISRESPECTFUL, AND RUDE.
I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with the other Bar Tenders at the Thirsty Turtle. I respect them, and they have shown me the respect in return.
But if I come in again to the Thirsty Turtle, and Theresa is working I will turn around, and leave...
Read moreThe Thirsty Turtle is a nice stop for straight up comfort bar food for lunch. They usually have a special everyday. My favorite is the fried catfish platter on fridays. You can have a decent lunch for under 10 bucks and that is including the tip for the waitress. And the food is much, much better than any fast food fare. Do yourself a favor and try it some afternoon. An added bonus for Dart throwers, they have steel tio and soft tip...
