Castañeda's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Indio

I am currently driving away from this place as I type because the experience was so awful. First of all, we were the only ones in the restaurant so how they served us literally cold burritos is beyond me. Not luke warm, not they cooled down, literally cold. Cold beans, cold potatoes, cold meat. I opened my burrito 1 minute down the road prior to re-entering the fwy on my way back from AZ. Literally frozen burritos. And we suspect it was done intentionally because we were the only ones there. How do you accidentally over look cooking the food?!? Any way, do not recommend. Food is awful and cold. The one pound burrito is underwhelming and is much smaller than most burritos I’ve purchased throughout California. I would’ve turned around to return the food but it’s already been a long drive so here I am giving the rest of you a heads up to avoid this place...

My daughter and I ordered two burritos California burritos and a shrimp burrito. The girl over the speaker told me it will be $26. I was like alright cool sat in the car chatting as there were a few cars a head. It was our turn and the girl I think her name is Maya was like it will be $ 11 and I was like wait. That’s for two burritos? She was like what did you order and I told her. She was like oh okay I’m your order got lost and you will have to wait. I had asked okay do you want me to park up front. She looked nervous and was like no you don’t have to I’m like okay. I hand her the money and she was like you know what I have the right to refuse your order. I was like what? 12/21/23 My Bf went to Castaneda's on Avenue 42 in Indio to pick up carne Asada fries for me. Paid almost $18 for them. All I wanted was meat & cheese on the fries. Pico on the side. He tried to TELL THEM THAT but no one could hear him because THEY HAD THE MUSIC UP SO LOUD he couldn't talk over it. He asked the to TURN IT DOWN several times & they did nothing. When he brought them to me they were not what I ordered. The fries were not cooked all the way, covered in runny avocado sauce & sour cream with something hot & spicy that had soaked in. There was a cup of shreaded cheese in the bag & very little meat. Waste of money right before Xmas when funds were limited. Tried calling. Make me some fries that I can eat - or REFUND MY MONEY. Santa does not like naughty fast...
