El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Indio

My wife and I wanted El Pollo Loco on Monday afternoon, Memorial Day. Our order number 1366. The chicken I received in my 3 piece combo, was either not chicken at all, or it had been sitting all day, but tend to believe both. I was literally throwing up and diarrhea after about 6 hours eating this food. The breast meat was a weird texture and no bones in the meat, or supposed meat. We have been eating El Pollo Loco for 40 years, from Orange County to Scottsdale. We were both hungry and wanted something quick and good on our way home from our sons wedding in Orange County. This was our worst experience with an El Pollo Loco ever and never been so sick. I really believe there needs to be some serious checks into quality control at this store. This el Pollo loco is extremely new, but this place has dirtiest restaurant I've ever seen. The prep area was nasty dirty dry food all around it. The worst part about is that it wasn't even busy it was dead. The employees were joking and playing around in the back. And the last thing is that we ordered two 3 piece combo and I saw a plate in the prep area since we got there and to place the order. The cook grabbed it and put it on a new plate thinking that I didn't see him because I was pouring my drink but I saw him give it to the girl working...

Terrible service. Went to pick up and no one in the front even greeted us. There were 2 employees in the front who saw us and they completely ignored and moved on to other parts in the back. Another worker then came out and did the same. Not one word or intention to help us. We stood there for minutes while they were making themselves look busy in a dead restaurant.
