This Michoacana location USE TO BE my favorite because of the great customer service and their paleta de leche quemada con fresas. This paleta I was told by the owner is exclusive to the location which added to my favoritism. Two days ago I was really craving an esquite and some tostilocos so I visited the location and was extremely dissatisfied from the moment I walked in. Posted right when you enter is a hand written sign stating that they no longer honor the rewards point system which in the past has saved me $5-$10 off my purchase which does make a difference. I asked for a regular esquite no hot Cheetos and no lime, but I still tasted lime. Their tostilocos now don't have mango instead they come with cucumber and jícama. The cueritos were EXTREMELY chewy, made me question if they were old. I asked for the chamoy that's not spicy and I don't know if they didn't have any so the girl used the spicy one but added only about 3 squirts of it. The tostilocos were dry, and I really doubt that they use a whole bag of tostitos now because I was only able to get two whole tostitos out of the portion I ate. I will unfortunately have to visit a different location...
Read moreFirst time here and i had to rate them because their snacks and ice cream were amazingly tasty. The service was great even though it was really busy on a Thursday night and it is a family friendly atmosphere.
My favorite was their milk chocolate ice cream. It was rich and creamy not overly sweet. The ezquites are so fresh. It's a medium sized cup with corn (boiled) mayo, cheese, and chili powder if desired, for under 3 dollars. My son got the fresas con crema (strawberries with a sweet yogurt like cream) and he loved them (I have picky eaters). The mangoneada ice cream was so delicious, it is a cup covered in chamoy and tajin, then they add the mango ice cream, at the top are small pieces of mango , and finally they add a little more tajin and chamoy. The medium sized mangoneada was only $4.99, but it feelt like a large portion.
They had plenty more ice cream flavors that I will be going back to try, such a gansito flavored ice cream. They also had a large interesting variety of milk or water based paletas, they had aguas frescas, raspados, and much more. Highly...
Read moreI've been a believer from the first time I tried their "paletas". Made others, like my mom a believer too with a "mangoneada". This place really exemplifies what a Mexican snack is all about. They don't just "do" ice cream; their menu includes all the tasty offerings of an LAC or CDMX street vendor from "esquites" to "bionicos" to "fruta loca" to "aguas frescas". Whatever you can want or desire for a snack you'll most likely find it here. The staff is friendly and fun, but the prices fluctuate and vary depending on the location because each store is independently owned and I've found there is no flavor consistency or fixed pricing for any item, which for me possess problem when traveling because I can never be sure that my favorite "paleta" (maracuya) will be as tasty as when I first tried it, yet it ended up costing more. Overall though, the five stars and a BIG shout out is indeed well deserved by La Michoacana Ricas Nieves on Manchester for their incomparable awesome taste and pricing. Thank you for making...
