As a member of the "mug club", I may be a bit biased, here. 🤣 Just kidding!
I absolutely love their pizza! There's just something addicting about the sauce. (I get a side of marinara to dip my crust in. Or do I use the crust to shovel in the marinara? Either way... Mmmmm.)
My second favorite food is the deep fried green beans which are served with a side of siracha ranch.
I've tried most everything on the menu, as long as you know what you like (for me, no gorgonzola), everything is very good.
Unfortunately, I'm not a craft beer person (sorry, Pete) so I cannot attest to how good those are. I stick with Focus which is a very basic beer. The wines I've tasted have all been excellent.
As I referenced above, you can buy a mug (I'm not sure what the current price is, $150 ish?) and the pour is the same price as a pint, but the mugs holds about 3-5 ounces more. More beer, same price, I like it! Your mug will then reside at SSB for future use.
There's ample parking on both sides of the building.
The building is easily wheelchair accessible.
There is also a beautiful patio at the front of the building, which is nice during the warmer months.
This is not a place I would take small children, yet there usually is at least one small child there, so.... 🤷♀️ It's not a bad environment, just not what I would think of if taking kids out.
Please proceed to the bar to order and get your drinks. The food will be brought out to your table when it's...
Read moreI wouldn't expect much from the tiny town of Ionia, but Steele Street blew my mind! The beer was absolutely stellar! I had a Blood Orange Amber, their signature stout, signature IPA, and a blueberry cider. The cider was on the sweet side, but some enjoy that. As for my beers, they are better than some I've had around Lansing! Thoroughly enjoyed their chicken queso while I sat there and had enjoyable conversation with the staff. The staff made my visit! They were all kind, personable, and quite hilarious. It made for an enjoyable Saturday evening! I don't live nearby, but I can see this 30-minute drive being worth it for all that Steele Street...
Read moreThe owner had a patronizing attitude when I asked if they do anything for the military as they do at Dark Horse Brewery. A simple no would have sufficed but he compared his time on a farm and that no one gave him anything for that to serving in the military. Again I would have been happy with just a no, but to compare his employment on a farm to the men and women that defend our freedoms today left me speechless. And it seemed after I identified myself as a military member he became more belligerent towards me. Maybe he was having a bad day, but at that point I thanked him for his time and left. Again, no would have sufficed and...
