Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Iowa City

I've eaten at this location a few times and I loved it. Made plans with a friend to go there today and we had an unpleasant experience. I fully understand people make mistakes but when the manager gives you attitude over their mistakes, then that's a whole different thing. I ordered two sandwiches without some stuff on it. They gave me the two sandwiches with them on it. I took it up there and told them and they told me they didnt hear me say that but my friend with me definitely heard me ask for it. But mistakes are made and I understand that. They proceeded to bring me two completely different sandwiches, so I had to go back up again. The manager came to assist me this time and I explained that these were wrong and I had ordered these other sandwiches with this stuff taken off. She gets a little snippy like "well the picture shows what it comes with" and I said I know, but I asked for it without. So I went and sat back down. The manager brought me out one sandwich and with an attitude asked me if this was done properly, I assumed she only made one to be certain it was made correctly before bringing me the other since 4 sandwiches had already been wasted. I ate that sandwhich and waited. After a good 5 mins of waiting and my friend was done eating, I went up and told them I just want my money back for the second sandwhich because at this point we are just ready to go. The manager calls me rude, etc when I hadn't done anything wrong. They messed up MY order all over the place and gave me mega attitude like it was my fault. After this experience, I will not be coming back...

I have stopped by 4 different times in the past week. Even though the website says they close at 10pm this is not true. In fact it seems they close whenever they feel like it. Two times I was there to get a delicious treat for my family. It was 910pm on a Monday and the store was closed up tighter than a drum. The next time is was before 9pm on Wednesday and there was a vehicle a head of us getting their order, they move up and I start to leave our order and the employee said they are closed as I am watching the car a head of us getting their ice cream. So it wasn't even 9 PM and they closed in 30 seconds after the vehicle in front of us got their order. So last night we went on a warm Saturday evening and it was 7pm we were going to order food and ice cream. Well we did not eat their either because the kitchen was closed so I drove off once again. Went to Arby's in stead. We actually did get lunch on time because one of my kids was home sick and that's what they requested. I ordered the chicken strips basket. The chicken was over cooked, had no breading, and no flavor. Very small, hard rubber cooked strips. I am very disappointed going to one of our favorite places to eat and get a frozen treat.

It will be a long time...

When trying to order was told they had no chicken tenders or strips, no strawberry icecream. No butterscotch, no chocolate. Was told when ordering the 7.00 meal that you could get cheese curds or onion rings instead of fries, so I said at no extra charge and the girl said no extra charge well when she put it in it charged extra, I said you told me no extra charge, she just kept saying I'm new so Idk. I told her we wanted the icecream after our food. We no more than sat down to wait on our food and they called out that our sundaes were done. So I went to get them and I told the person that made them that we didn't want them until after we ate, and she says I didn't know that. I said I told the one that took my order, but all she kept saying is that she is new. It took over 20 minutes to get our food. Trash was overflowing in dining area and bathroom. Very disappointing. Probably will not be returning to this place. Didn't want to give any stars but didn't have...
