There was a man there who I can only assume was the manager or owner. He seemed to be making the two younger girls nervous with his presence. The girl making my ice cream made too much for the size I ordered. I used to work at a cold stone and I know how hard it is to get the scoops perfect. I asked for whipped cream on top (which at my cold stone meant dropping the ice cream in a bigger cup to make room for whipped cream and a lid - no extra ice cream, just the extra space for whipped cream on top). Not here. As the girl was getting the whipped cream the man told her she had scooped too much ice cream. Dude she knew the second she put it in the cup you didn’t need to say that to her in front of customers as she was visibly more nervous with that comment. I requested the entire cup just be dropped in a bigger cup to fit the lid, and as the girl was doing this the man took the ice cream from her and made her scoop off and throw out the extra ice cream. When I asked why she couldn’t just put it in the cup he told me it’s because the register counts every cup and would think they sold more. The cup was already dirty as my ice cream had touched it, so wasting the extra ice cream did nothing if that was the problem. Also, it was a lie. Cups get dropped and there’s room for having to throw some out. The cash register doesn’t care that you dropped it in a bigger cup to accommodate a customer request. As he did this he told the girl “I usually tell them to just eat the extra” but did not give me that option as he threw out the extra ice cream. I had been debating a five guys milkshake or cold stone, and I regret choosing cold stone. I want to reiterate that it was not the girls who upset me. It was the man who was being ridiculous, lying to me, and visibly making the...
Read moreI used to live coming here after dinner with my kids on our monthly outing but lately I've gotten mixed feelings about this location.
First of the stars are only because the ice cream taste good. Otherwise, Service here is terrible, and they keep changing things.
Getting ice cream is very slow, easily takes them triple the time as any other location. Perhapse understaffed and/or poor learning on the newer employees side.
Then its the issue on ordering items, like today.
Now, when we first started coming here the owner told us they have a kid size (3oz) instead of "like it" (5oz) because my 2 and 4 year olds won't eat that much and they know it. All Cold Stones do this. Since then i get the kid size for them every time.
Today I asked the lady there for a kid cup of vanilla and one kid cup chocolate. She said they don't do kid cups. I know this is wrong. She tells me they ONLY have like it as the smallest option, they don't do smaller.
I was about to leave, my kids gave me the eyes,. I cave and get the like it despite knowing it won't get finished.
After handing over the ice cream, the server goes and starts gossiping with the other lady there. Both shooting me ugly looks. No doubt because im frustrated.
I won't be back here. Ill go to lexington location. They nicer, faster, and dont try to lie.
It may sound petty. But this isn't the first time ive been given horrible service here. This was just...
Read moreSorry I came in and asked for ice cream, that’s how I feel right now after ordering from here. I asked for watermelon sorbet as a milkshake, yes I know that is unusual and the milk effects the flavor however I like the milk mixed with it because it tones down the watermelon for me. I also literally explained that to the girl when she was warning me that it may be thin. She still put seltzer water or some sort of syrup base for the shake even after I said it about me wanting the milk. It would be one thing if this was a mistake but she was incredibly rude to us. Didn’t even ask if I wanted the whip cream just put a regular top on it and put it on the counter. Like I have no idea if she was having just a bad day but it was such a rude experience. She even threw a spoon down at the counter for us, like just wow kinds of rude. I wanted to speak up about the milkshake but I felt uncomfortable doing so. I don't think I even feel comfortable ever coming back to this...
