McDonald's — Restaurant in Irondale

Two stars, because day shift is generally a lot better. I've had them forget my food on the counter and so has a friend if they have you pulled forward, but generally people in drive thru are very nice.

The night crew is in need of change. They claim their system is down 2-3 hours before close repeatedly (weve given this restaurant a shot three times at night since May because everything else closes early in irondale) and one woman simply yells SYSTEM DOWN at you through drive thru, something friends have also experienced on different nights.

They will sit there and say we are out to anything you order, until I finally asked if they were just out of everything on a Friday night at 8 o clock and she said yes.

Make claims that they are doing everything to fix it, but no one is working with the system they're either outside smoking or talki ng to each other behind counter.

This is not the only restaurant in Irondale to use this tactic, beware at night Krystals, all McDonalds, Taco Bell, and Dominos pizza will screw you over if they dont feel like it. Call ahead so you dont waste gas.

Today's visit was pretty bad. This location continues to provide a really bad experience. I avoid it for a while and then come back and check again.

This time they were out of all drinks except water, tea and regular Coke (no diet coke, diet dr pepper, Sprite, etc). I told the order taker (who accused me of lying last time I was here when I didn't receive any of the fries I ordered) that I had a coupon on the McDonalds app for a free McFlurry with a combo. She said in a frustrated tone, "just pull around I'll have to see it".

When I got to the window she informed me she would try entering the coupon to, "see if it takes it [the McFlurry] off."

I guess these coupons must be a pain for the cashiers to deal with? It makes me not want to bother using the deals or app anymore...

When I got my food, the fries were super overcooked and under salted and the McFlurry was super low and not even remotely close to the top (see the picture). Also, the McFlurry was not a McFlurry.... it was a half-filled cup of ice cream with some crumbs on top. It was not blended at all.

Truth be told, I should probably just be thankful their ice cream machine was...

We eat at this location when we are working in the area. If it was my first time I probably would not give it a good review. But patience is key here. Food is consistent, hot and made fresh . There is a lot of local regular customer s that come to this location, and if you go there enough you will see that a lot of the employees greet them by name, and usually know what they are ordering when they walk in. They rarely have more than one person running a register, so if you are in a hurry during rush hour be prepared to wait a few minutes. There are two other McDonald's not far from this one, but we never eat there, this is probably our favorite one to eat at in the area. Hey it's McDonald's, you stick to the basic menu, you don't make any weird request, be polite and you will have a good lunch for not a lot of money. If you order some special, have it made some way other than what is on the menu, and you are a jerk your experience may not be great. Hey they also have great coffee at this location, always fresh. Be nice to to employees here and you will have a much more enjoyable experience . I eat there...
