It's a very contemporary lounge type setting with almost 360 degree seating around a main Center Bar. It actually feels more like a newer W than a Marriott Because of the modern feel.
There is a small bar type food menu available (fish tacos, Buffalo turkey meatballs and hand-cut french fries were all pretty good) along with a comprehensive wine and cocktail list. You can tell instantly that you are in a corporate priced hotel with $350 a night rates by the overpriced wine menu... which is certainly expected, but still disappointing from a locals perspective. That being said, you are paying with the out-of-town visitors enjoying the view and the Cool vibe on expense accounts, so it's not a cheap night out.
There's lots of chairs and couches around fireplaces, along with high tops with lots of heating lamps to make the place is very comfy no matter where you sit. But that's the key... because although there is ample seating, it goes first/fast, and if you don't have a place to sit you kind just walk around. It also means having to wait in a horrible line at the main bar.
There was a live DJ spinning chill R&B but the sound system wasn't fully figured out yet so the party was a little hit or miss. Still a fun atmosphere.
Bottom line is it's easily the coolest place for you to meet a group of friends for cocktails in the area.
Some insights: Valet is the only way to go and it's a pretty easy experience. It was basically three hours free with restaurant validation. This may have changed, I understand...
Stake out a place to sit as soon as you get there. That is basically the key to having a good or bad experience.
Getting drinks at the main bar is a nightmare because they are understaffed, under-trained added to a small space to operate within... But if you're sitting at a table, the waitresses are very well trained and service is prompt and professional. You’ll be happy as soon as you find a cool...
Read moreFirst this review is something that I usually don’t do, with that being said our first experience was 2 years ago at this roof top bar we had a pretty harsh experience, didn’t post nothing … 2 years later things have changed so why not give it a try. This review is only for the front end hostess at the time/ wearing cargo type pants , not our server… with that being said the hostess was polite at first even told us what spot to sit at, went great after we have a server come to us great by the way tells us what we want and proceeded to take order ——- This is when everything went side ways the hostess short Latina little bit on the bigger side comes to us and says if you guys need to order please go to bar for food and drink( why give us a menu have us sit but still need to go to bar to order) . Ok at that point I hear her not a problem, my wife has a hard time hearing at the moment due to ear issues my wife asked her what was that we didn’t hear you.. the hostess once again not our order taker but was guarding the entry to the place once getting off the elevator proceeded to say in a very sarcastic inappropriate way very slowly to my wife the same thing IF YOU WANT TO ORDER FOOD OR DRINKS GO TO BAR, As if talking to a child with a heavy accent as well.. which caught us off guard. I believe this bar up top has great potential but unfortunately it’s seems to be ran by very young crowd. Management should look into this .. or have a talk with the lady only short Latina a little on the bigger side. And to make it clear I’m Latino so no racism is being thrown here. But she really needs to work on her customer service skills, once again our server was great, but the lady that sat us and showed us the table wearing cargo type pants was horrible- and accent
Besides that the calamari was good drinks good and bars tenders great, Our server was great as well ate had one drink and decided to go to...
Read moreHORRIBLE PLACE: BAD VIBE and the WORST STAFF I’ve ever seen (RUD and LAZY HOSTESS and another waitress who acted the same way). UNPROFESSIONAL! We came with an advanced reservation, we made it one week in advance looking to have a great lady’s night out: they placed our party of three to the most distant table all the way in the back where there was no even light. It was so uncomfortable to seat there that we asked for a better table since everything was empty around. They said it was all reserved. We moved to another table closer to the bar where a waiter didn’t come to us for another hour. After we asked what’s going on they said we had to order from the bar and then told us that our 90 min of stay have expired…you gotta be kidding me!? None of that was explained to us before. While all those supposedly reserved tables were still empty. When we tried to address this issue the staff was rude, unprofessional and lazy. I’ve never seen such a lazy and unrepresentable host before. Her shirt was dirty. I’m like is this who you put as the front face of your restaurant?? Then she was checking her computer saying everything is reserved while everything has been empty the entire time we ve been there. There were barely any people there. The other waitress or bartender I don’t know who she was…she was equally unprofessional, she was barely moving and acting like please leave already, stop annoying me, don’t you see I’m busy with my phone here? For a quality of a rooftop that is they really need to hire more customer oriented people not those lazy unprofessional ones who spend their time chatting around and playing on the phone (that what they were doing while I was waiting and waiting to get the situation resolved) while their customers left unattended or ask to help them resolve the situation. I never write such bad reviews but this place really deserved it thanks to...
