I Heart Pancakes — Restaurant in Irvine

Edit two: I ended up going again, and had a wonderful experience. I admitted I went here before and didn't have the best experience, and owner made it right. Got lemon blueberry pancakes on the house alongside my order, made in a way that matches the menu description (and very tasty). He admitted the restaurant messed up and changed the way they make the pancakes after my original review. Very pleasant interaction in person, took responsibility and made it right. Complete 180 from the online responses. I just wish I wasn't treated like I was stupid/lying in the online response, as I almost never went here again and would not have had the opportunity to change my mind.

Edit after owner response: I took a pancake home to eat it later, and to prove a point, I cut it in half. Are the blueberries baked into the pancake in the room with us?

Original review: My order did not match the menu description, so I can't rate higher than two stars. Food was decent.

The lemon blueberry pancakes are described as "blueberry pancakes with a lemony cream cheese filling, topped with blueberry compote and whipped cream."

What I received were plain buttermilk pancakes (not blueberry) with blueberry compote, whipped cream, and a clear lemon jelly (absolutely nothing to do with cream cheese) on top. I double checked the menu after the meal to see if I maybe read it wrong, but I didn't. Staff at the front clarified that the order I received was the standard for the lemon blueberry pancakes. Both aspects of why I ordered these particular pancakes were not present, which was very disappointing. The food itself wasn't bad, but I expect the description to match so I can make an educated decision on what I'm buying. I cannot speak for the accuracy of the rest of the menu.

Please change the menu to be accurate to the food served! For me it was only disappointing but for people with allergies or food intolerances it could be much bigger of an issue which is why I ultimately...

At what price would you pay for this HAPPY Face Pancake?

This is not the same Happy Face pancake in the menu that my daughter saw. She didn't end up eating this.

Two adults one preteen and one toddler. (Photo from website) My family was seated on the left table while I went to wash my hands to the restroom. The restroom is neat and Clean. When I came back to sit my toddler was in a chair and family told me"we weren't offered a high chair" so naturally I looked around if this establishment was toddler friendly/ kid-friendly because the waitress did not offer us a high chair. I saw a couple of school aged children and there I saw a stack of high chairs behind us! So I took one for my toddler. Then the waitress came to take our order later. My food was almost not worth eating not even warm but I didn't want to waste food.

There was a lady in purple suit that came to our table and asked " how's everything?" I said "good" and she smiled and patted my toddler on the head and left. So I told everyone on the table and they asked who that lady was and I replied I'm guessing the owner but she didn't say. Family said what if that was a total stranger and just came to ask how was your food? Hehehe 😂 😆 But who was this lady? If this lady was the owner she needs to introduce herself or wear a name tag.

Long story short too much dinero for HAPPY Face pancake. We didn't come to see a Mickey Mouse pancake..... you should have a "HAPPY HEART PANCAKE " YO'RE WELCOME YOU MAY TAKE MY IDEA and in return PANCAKE FOR life for my kids. Deal! . Heheehe. Today is January 19, 2025.

I come here alot! The pancakes are really good and they’re a good size. Today i am highly disappointed, i travel a little ways just to get here and i get the same thing i always get. My pancakes are so small it looks like frozen pancakes from the store. Ive NEVER had an issue before and i when i got home and saw how small they were i called, the guy stated its always been the size i got and its the same cook, said i can come back for more pancakes. Like i said i traveled some ways and its very disappointing and an inconvenience to have to go back so im not going to. I might have to find another pancake spot if this is what im going to get from now on. I hope they dont start changing up the menu.

Update: so the owner always responds with a snobby attitude to people as you can see. I will not be coming back. As i said i drive ways to make it to the restaurant who wants to sit in traffic wasting gas going back and fourth for something that shouldnt of happened in the first place. For someone that always gets THE SAME THING and for you to try and gaslight saying the container makes it smaller is insane. How about get out of your feelings and have a more professional manner if you would of responded differently i definitely would have changed my review to 5 stars because like i said this was the only bad experience i had but instead you are very unprofessional which puts a bad taste in my mouth about your business now so yes ill take my business elsewhere and tell the ppl i recommended to your business to go elsewhere to “no...
