Don't believe the hype, but it's all good. I never heard about the hype but I do enjoy Le Diplomate Cafe. If you don't like it there is no need to get your panties up in a bunch, I'm sure you over hype In-N-Out. I rest my case.
Chicken, broccoli, and mushroom. It's the three little words I want to hear. With garlic sauce of course. For all the garlic sauce haters this I how I do it. When the lady ask me, do you want garlic sauce? I look at her in the eyes and say YES! Extra garlic sauce. No time for fore play let's just get to it. Step 3 for a bomb sandwich add hot sauce because it will complement the garlic sauce perfectly. You may not get a kiss from your date but by now you are way pass that point. You are ready of mad skills so enjoy.
A quick disclaimer. The food is not super gourmet but it does rival most food trucks in value and taste. The bread is toasted almost like a Panini. The sandwich is the real deal. Do you ever by a hot pocket based on the picture only to find out what is inside does live up to par? Well Le diplomate is picture perfect. Open up the sandwich it looks even better on the inside. Don't ever open up a fast food burger you will be disappointed.
Parking. Free of course! And plentiful. It's Irvine. Don't laugh some people pay for parking.
Location. In the town center across from UCI but not near the street but more in the back to midsection. It is near golden spoon but keep walking toward the Kogi place. I recommend parking near Eureka and walking past Kogi. It's near the bathroom hall way entrance. It might be tricky to find but I hope this helps.
I recommend Le Diplomate because I am also excited to eat here when in the area. It's not fancy but does the job at...

We used to love Le Diplomate Cafe but we aren’t sure if it’s under new management now. Either way, avoid ordering from here. Subway seems like a 5 star restaurant in comparison to this place.
The chicken in the garlic chicken sandwich must have been days old bc it was so dry to the point of being inedible.
For the pastrami sandwich, the 2 slices of pastrami (seriously, only 2 small pieces of pastrami were thrown in the sandwich - as shown in the pictures) had that rainbow borderline rotten color to it - that I didn’t want to touch it. Also, the lettuce was wilted and just nothing, unfortunately was fresh. The mayonnaise was just randomly thrown in there as well and we don’t want to find out if these sandwiches taste as bad as they look…but we are hungry so we do taste it and realize that no, it tastes even worse….
We spent about $40 for delivery of two sandwiches that sadly...
Read moreFinally had a chance to try this place out after so many good reviews! This place is located in the University Town Center which is the same plaza where Veggie Grill and Cha for Tea is. There were seatings indoor and outdoor. I like that there are outdoor seatings because you know what that means! I can bring fido with me! =)
I tried the yummy Chicken, Mushroom, Brocolli Garlic sandwich! It was definitely good. It was the really soft, warm, crispy baguette and garlic sauce that made it so darn tasty! It felt like it just melted in your mouth! Drool… I also tried the Eggplant sandwich with garlic sauce and that was just as good! When you go there they give you a choice between the two sauce that you can put in your sandwich. That would be either the ranch or garlic. I have to say try the garlic, especially you garlic lovers! Service was great and friendly! I can't...
