i have been going to the target for about a year now (just started college), but last week, i had the most uncomfortable, most unprofessional encounter with a worker ever. i went in to buy dayquil/nyquil, and at self-checkout i needed to have id verification. i pulled out my passport card (don't currently have a driver's license) and the employee working (middle-aged, dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, asian) was very hostile to me. i don't think she had seen a passport card before, when i gave her my card she wouldn't let go of it, and called over another employee who recognized that it was a valid form of identification. however, she continued to be skeptical. she used the scanner to scan the back of my id but i could clearly see it wasn't angled correctly, when it wouldn't scan she called over yet ANOTHER employee who told her to do it manually (input date of birth). i asked her if she wanted me to do it (as i thought it would be the best way to prove that i'm me) but she pushed my hand away and said no. the date of birth is 8 digits long (MM/DD/YEAR), yet she took another 2 minutes to punch the whole thing out onto the keyboard. after all this, i proceeded to pay for it with my credit card (that matches the name on my id), but she still had not let go of my card. i asked her if everything was ok, if i needed to verify anything else, she said no but continued to hold onto the card for a good 10 seconds. *after that, she said i could have my passport card back, offering it with one hand. i grab onto the card and pull, expecting her to let go, but SHE DID NOT. SHE CONTINUED TO GRIP THE CARD AFTER IT WAS IN MY HAND, AND SHE SAID I COULD HAVE IT BACK. * i asked her what was wrong, she said, "sorry, i just need to check something real quick" and pulls the card out of my hand, turning away from m and inspecting the front and back of my card for the nth time. finally, once i have all my things bagged and ready to go, she lets me have my passport card back. target DO BETTER. this behavior was extremely unprofessional. i talked with friends and they have had similar experiences with this worker (falsely accused of shoplifting when leaving target, showed receipt of purchase as proof). if i see this woman working again i will come back here and...
Read moreWell, this place is a masterclass in bad timing. They shut their doors so early, it's like they're allergic to customers. Whether you're crawling out of bed or crawling home from work, guess what? Closed. They've mastered the art of being open when you're stuck at your desk.
And when they're not closed, it's self-checkout musical chairs at Target – might as well ring up your own misery. Don't be bothered by the giant video of you fumbling with paper towels from third-person orwellian robotic eye view.
hi welcome to target here's a live feed of you while you play with your canned beans
College students, good luck getting your essentials when you're burning the midnight oil. Apparently, this place thinks everyone operates on a 9 to 5 schedule, It's like they've never heard of late-night study sessions, or, you know, people that have jobs.
They were briefly staying open until 10pm but on my most recent attempted visit(12-26-23)they already had their red-card barricading the sliding doors at 938pm. I witnessed several people walk up to the door express visible confusion when the magic doors didn't budge, so I'm not the only one surprised they were apparently not open until 10pm like they were last week.
it's weird that they still tried walk up to the doors with the red cart barricade, but yeah, very disappointing.
In conclusion, this place is closed nearly half of each day, and they don't bother updating their hours on maps.
I hope they consider expanding their hours...
Read moreI am really sorry to say that...This particular Target has a Racial Profiling issue! Employees discriminates customers for no apparent reason. Ever time I shop there, I get cold disrespectful treatments from the Employees, having very poor attitudes and Every time I ask for help to find items in the store there is No help to assist, but when I finally find help, they are very sloppy and disrespectful don't take the time and effort to help me. I thought it was only my point of view, until I wittiness the same treatment of disrespect to another follow in the store when one employee clearly was following a man all around the store. At that moment I wanted to call the corporate office to have them know the issues of poor customer service and my multiple bad experiences I get from this store alone.....It's very draining for a student to have to go to an establishment which is clearly hostel and racist And then have to come home embarrassed and shamed for who they are and FOR JUST SHOPPING!! University Center's Target's in Irvine clearly has a huge issue and it needs to be resolved. The consented Discrimination, Racial Profiling and pure disrespect to "particular people " has to stop!! I think it's time that corporate to be aware of the issues at hand and to notify store mangers to set up general meeting to resolve the issues in this Target store or have corporate clean up shop and to bring in new and better customer service who will treat people like...
