I made reservations online for 2/17/24, and it was super easy. Plus, I got confirmation right away, which was quite nice! Upon arriving, I checked in with my party and was informed that our table was being set. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and just as expected for a chinese restaurant. They had decorations up for the Chinese New Year, which was also nice. Within a few minutes we were called to our table. Our waiter introduced himself, and his name was Tyler. We ordered our drinks, and he seemed out of it. We repeated our drink order to him and his response to us: "My shift is almost over, so I'm over it." I let it go. He brought our drinks and asked us if we needed additional tome with the menu or if we were ready to order. We let him know we needed a few more minutes. He walked away. Then we didn't see him for a bit. He came back after a while and took our order. He placed it, and our food came out after a while. We noticed that something was missing from the items we had ordered. His service really showed that he didn't want to be there at work and that he really didn't care. He hardly checked on us but was more than happy to wait on and be attentive to a table with a larger group of people and another table that had the same amount of people in their party as us. I had stepped away, and my friend had paid for the meal. I made mention regarding the missed item and asked if it was taken off. She checked and it wasn't and she forgot to make mention of it. It took a while before Tyler came back to our table. He has walked by many times and ignored us. Once he came back, I informed him of the error, and he did apologize and said he'd have it fixed. He had to call the manager to get it fixed. By the end of the visit, it had left a sour taste in our mouths, to say the least. We ended up getting sick from the restaurant as well. I spare the details on that. Overall, I don't think we'll be giving PF Changs...
Read moreWhile I tend to keep my reviews on the positive side, I unfortunately cannot for this experience. We were very dissatisfied with our experience here. Was expecting some rather nice flavorful food for a family night out, but was fairly bland with a couple exceptions.
The soups were very good. Texture and flavor were great in the egg drop and hot and sour soups.
Our first pot of hot tea was barely warm. Our sake had a fly in the first pour. The server took care to fix our initial drink issues. While she was helpful, we felt we had to wait a long while to be refilled throughout the meal. The restaurant was less than half occupied when we were dining, and we had to flag them down to get more water and tea.
For our entrees, while they looked and smelled wonderful, the flavors did not meet the expectations of this grade of restaurant. The salmon had a beautiful miso crust that provided no flavor to the fish. The sesame chicken sauce seemed to leave the chicken behind in an oil slick. Buddahs feast was an unseasoned veggie steamer. The fried rice was the most flavorful part of our entrees.
For the other parts of our experience, the restaurant was set up very spaciously with great decor art and ambiance. Tables were well sized for seating groups and fitting all the dishes without feeling too cluttered. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
With all that, I do not plan on returning to a PF Changs any time soon. The food just does not live up to the expectations that an dining establishment with such a chef's...
Read moreI'm a fan of the drinks here, and the food is okay, the quality of food seems to vary from one PF Chang's to another.
Came here after walking around on a warm Sunday afternoon at the Irvine Spectrum Center, where this particular restaurant is located. After being greeted and seated outdoors by the host, I was quick to order a coconut mojito and a "Japanese Old Fashioned" which at the time of this review is advertised on their website as "An Asian twist on a classic, made with Suntory TOKI Japanese Whisky and served over an ice square." The Japanese Old Fashioned was great, strong, and an excellent experience.
Wasn't in the mood to get a full entree let alone share it, so I just got some eggrolls, see attached photo. This came out REALLY greasy, which tells me when they pulled it out of the fryer they didn't bother placing them on paper towels to absorb a bulk of the oil first. Like literally it was enough to make me feel sick so I ended up eating only a few pieces.
The decor of the place is really nice, whoever designed the lighting for the restaurant knew their interior design really well, nice balance of warm lights against dark walls, yet natural light comes in easily during the day.
There is free WiFi here, and it's not bad in terms of speed, but I found myself getting kicked off the network every few minutes, but there's always the Irvine Spectrum Center public free WiFi that you can use.
All in all, great drinks, nice decor, decent service, meh food, complimentary WiFi. Oh and clean...
