Ok so Firstly these Philly sandwiches are good I can’t lie I’ve come 3 times total and all 3 times the taste has been consistent . Secondly these guys (they usually are a group of 3) are very quick and efficient in working together when it comes to getting your food ready. Thirdly the portion size are worth the price I’ve heard reviews saying how expensive it is which I do agree I payed around $13 tax included which is quite costly but to be fair they are very giving with the amounts of food At least in my experience. Lastly my one last thing that gets to me is the Hygiene. Me myself I take Hygiene very important these guys none of them wear gloves.. at all when they grab loafs of bread, tomato slices, lettuce, mushrooms I witnessed the guy grab it with his bare hands. I am pretty sure they will say they wash there hands with soap regularly I don’t doubt it they are busy almost 24/7 however gloves when working with food is a must as well as haircaps. They also talk a lot when they are working which doesn’t mind probably a average customer but to me it increases the chances of saliva getting on my food which kind of bothers me conversant after finishing work not while. None the less a few things to improve on and it...
Read morePhilly’s Best is a cheesesteak with sweet peppers and mushrooms. This cheesesteak is exactly what I want when I crave one – thinly sliced, juicy steak, gooey cheese, sweet grilled peppers and onions, and earthy mushrooms that soak up all of the beefy juices from the grill. The Amoroso bread is like a French and sourdough mix of flavors and chewy interior. Rating: 5/5
Cheesesteak Fries are French fries topped “wit” cheese sauce, thinly sliced steak, and onions. If you love “loaded fries” like I do, you need to order this! My hubby steers clear as he is not a “cheese sauce” type of guy, but when fries are in the mix, I love cheese sauce. It sticks to the fries and also helps the other toppings stick for a delicious bite every time. I love their cheesesteaks but I love the cheesesteak fries even more! Rating: 5/5
Pizza Fries are French fries topped “wit” pizza and cheese sauce. I love cheese sauce with fries but with the pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella or provolone would have been better. The creaminess of the cheese would work better with the sweetness of the pizza sauce and also go with the Italian flavor profile. It’s a smaller portion than the cheesesteak fries and works well as a side to a cheesesteak or hoagie....
Read moreThis has always been my go-to lunch spot in Irvine. I’ve been coming here for over 13 years, which is why I was so disappointed with the experience tonight.
We decided to grab a Philly steak around 8:30 PM. I tried calling several times to place a takeout order, but no one answered. Since I know the place well, we stopped by in person. The restaurant was still open, and my friend placed the order at the counter.
I asked the cashier why no one was answering the phone. At first, they said the phone was broken—but when I dialed the number right there, it rang just fine. It was obvious they just didn’t want to answer calls because it was close to closing time.
On top of that, the staff was rude and confrontational, clearly upset that we walked in and placed an order 30 minutes before closing. As a loyal customer, I wasn’t trying to cause trouble—I just wanted to make sure I hadn’t dialed the wrong number and understand why no one was answering.
This isn’t the type of service I’d expect after supporting a local business for so many years. Ignoring calls and treating customers poorly not only costs sales but also hurts the reputation of a place many of us have...
