I LEFT THIS LOCATION IN TEARS TODAY THANKS TO KELLI. I never leave reviews even if I have unusually bad service but I have never been targeted BEFORE today. I walked into Nordstrom with my fiancé, went up the escalator and after taking TWO steps off, I was bombarded by a woman much much older than me. She stared at me without blinking and asked "do you need anything?? You look confused?"
I was confused... at first I thought she was being helpful and had simply had a pushy approach (pushy because she was leaning in quite a bit).
She kept insisting that I looked confused but it was very clear by the tone she meant that I looked out of place at this store.
I decided to take her up on her offer and ask if she could help me find the House of CB display. She said "is that supposed to be a womenâs brand?"
House of CB is sold at Nordstrom. She followed me (an obvious FEMALE) asked me what clothing Iâm looking for and is now asking if what I'm looking for is for women? What else would a FEMALE be looking for in the FEMALE clothing section after being asked what she is looking for. Because of today's political climate, Im almost wondering if she was insinuating something to do with gender??
Finally, after explaining its a brand carried by the store, she cuts me off to say "I wouldn't know anything about that I don't work this floor" and how she knows nothing.... So then why are we staring at each other on the second floor of the Nordstrom having this conversation??
It was bizarre, I thought maybe she was a crazy person who really doesn't work here. I would've never assumed, this entire conversation was for... what exactly? To make me feel uncomfortable?
I walk in to be followed up the escalator and questioned in under a minute of first entering then, I am completely ignored after answering and looked at like I'm crazy for asking for a brand that they carry.
As she walked away I called after to ask for her name. She ignored me multiple times until finally turning around to say
"for what?? It's Kelli"
Okay so now it makes sense. So you are following and harassing customers, instigating ridiculous interactions and trying to intimidate them.
When they answer you genuinely and decide to take you up on your offer to "help". You claim to know nothing of the brands carried by your store, that you do not work the floor you are harassing me on, and that you can't help me... despite following me up the escalator and asking if I'm what I'm looking for is meant for women??
It was only after aaaalll of it put together that I realized, her initial interaction wasn't just awkward, it was intentionally passive aggressive and I was targeted. I didnât look confused at all so when she said âyou look confusedâ it became very clear she meant I do not belong.
Do better. I know I am not the only one who has had this experience. After reading Yelp reviews, it is clear I am not the only one to have experienced this with this set of customer service workers.
It was so jarring. I've never been so obviously singled out. I went home and looked at myself wondering what was so wrong about the way I look that this random woman decided to hone in on me the second she saw me.
We ended up taking our business to Aritzia in Costa Mesa. The House of CB dresses have sucky reviews on the Nordstrom rack anyway!!!
Save your time and go a little north to South Coast for a better...
Read moreI came in to pickup an online order. It wasnât ready yet but that was okay because I wanted to look around and shop a bit. I was in the fragrance department with my family admiring one of the perfumes when one of the employees (an older, short, white woman) came up and snagged it from the counter along with the unused testing strips of paper closest to me. I thought it was a little weird but I ignored it. As we kept walking and smelling a few of the ones on the wall, she came and stood RIGHT NEXT TO ME. There was another couple looking and sampling perfumes a few feet away but she focused on us. She never greeted us, never smiled. She just stood and watched us. After I was done spraying one of the samples on a testing strip right in front of her, she asked me which one it was. I told her and she said nothing, just continued to stare and stand close to me - about two inches from my shoulder. She followed as we walked down the wall but at this point it was clear to us she wanted us gone. We took one step away before she asked if we were going to pay for the candle my sister was holding. I was surprised because we werenât done shopping but we relented just to get out of there. I knew for sure we were just racially profiled and made to feel uncomfortable so we would leave. Luckily the ladies at the pickup counter were able to fulfill my pickup order early so we didnât have to spend another second in this store. I did tell another employee about our experience but I wish I couldâve spoken...
Read moreIf I could put 0 stars for this location I would.. I have never been treated so badly in my entire life at Nordstrom! On the website and they always advertise a hassle free policy when returning something and I've never had problems in the past or with any other location except for this one⊠once the manager came to help she automatically said she could not do the return because because I did not have my receipt And wouldn't even give me store credit and basically was accusing me of stealing! she said it's a high priced item and they could easily been stolen. So she basically called me a thief. I'm an outraged. After she Denied my return she followed me through the store while I was looking at clothes and I decided to just leave because that was very uncomfortable. As I was going down the escalator, (manager still following me) a lady that just sold me a 400 dollar item stopped me to show me something that I wanted but I turn to find the manager standing right behind me on her walkie talkie calling security wanting them to come help her for whatever reason. So I told the lady that I was about to purchase from that I was sorry but I couldn't deal with the management there and I won't shop there anymore. It's Humiliating and embarrassing. The pictures shows her following me down the stairs which means she was following me for awhile since I was still looking at clothes. 0 0 0 stars horrible service...
