It was my first time eating Dave's Chicken. I chose Reaper for both of my orders because I'm a spice addict. After opening the box... Holy! The smell is pungent. I've eaten spicier foods before so I can definitely handle it. My brother on the other hand, let's just say he had problems in the restroom. šŸ˜… For an average American, you'll die. Devon, the cashier, was very nice and welcoming. He did gave me a warning when ordering the Reaper. He's very attentive and caring to the customer which I greatly appreciate. Overall, the entirety of the order and experience was excellent. The price of the chicken is justified and valid. You get what you pay for. Will return for more spicier chicken. Here's a specific review of the actual food. Chicken: The chicken was definitely crispy and juicy when I consumed it. So the chef definitely nailed it. Frying food is an art/skill in itself. Spice: This one is a little bit tricky because everyone has different taste preference. For the Reaper, I thoroughly enjoy the spice and it has a nice sweet taste to it. Reminds me of Nashville's Hot Chicken. Fries: Okay... I RARELY see fries this good from a fast food restaurant for a very long time. The taste is great, but the texture is what I deeply care about. I am shocked that the fries was still crispy after an hour of buying it. When you eat fries from McDonald's, they get soggy very very fast if not consumed right away. The chef here definitely nailed the frying for sure. Toast: Well all I can say is the toast is just a regular toast. If the toast was an inch in thickness and has an in-depth sweet taste to it, then the dish will definitely be knocked out of the park. Just a reminder that I did get Dave's Number 1 and not Dave's' Number 2 which is with the actual bun for the slider. Pickles: The box came with 4 slices of pickles and I ate them by itself. The pickle is sour and salty like any pickle should be; however, the pickles aren't that salty here. In my opinion, that's actually good for the entire hot chicken if consumed as a sandwich or slider. Sauce: The sauce is absolutely great. Good combination with the hot chicken for sure. It's practically a sweet mayo base sauce which tones down the spice level of the hot chicken making it tolerable to eat.

First time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken. My daughter saw it on TikTok and has been wanting to try it. Unfortunately, there’s not one by where we live. Today is a good day and we found this location on the way back from appointment. As soon as we walked in, Manager Verleshia greeted us excitedly and complimented us with a big smile. Menu is simple and not complicated for us first time. The cashier person, Jakavion, was friendly. He told us about how good the Kale Slaw is, so I ordered one for myself. The food was quick, and it’s hot and fresh off the fryer. The flavors are amazing! I picked spice level. They go from ā€œno spiceā€ all the way up to ā€œreaperā€ (extremely spicy). The crust was crunchy, but not heavy-thick batter. It was just the perfect amount of spice. Although it came with Dave’s dipping sauce for extra flavor, the flavor on the crust was already there. The meat was plump, tender, and juicy. Manager recommended honey to go with Mac and cheese. She gave us a honey packet. It was delicious and out of this world. Who would have thought that honey would go so well with the Mac and cheese?! Food here is hand-down amazing! And the service is exceptional! The tables and the place were cleaned and spotless. The team would follow up with every table to make sure that we are good. I can tell that staffs are happy to be working here. Highly recommended this place. If I could give more than 5 starts, I would.

Due to the reviews and hype surrounding Dave's Hot Chicken, I was just expecting more, quite frankly. The food was okay; it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't amazing. The biggest issue I had was that the portions simply didn't correlate with the high price. You get two normally-sized chicken tenders and a side of fries for 13$ (it cost 28$ for two people), and no drink or other sides. We each got the slider and tender meal, to try each item. The fries were mid-tier and nothing special, basically tasted like Braum's crinkle fries. The tenders were painfully normal, similar in quality to Raising Canes and Zaxby's, but nearly triple the price. I got one hot and one extra hot, but I didn't really find them spicy at all-- no runny nose, no lingering spice on my tongue, nothing (then again, I love spicy food, so for most people they probably would have been hot enough). The flavor of the spice was nothing to write home about. The slider was just a chicken tender on a bun with pickles and a small amount of slaw; the second item, the solo tender, comes on a slice of white bread. Both breads are generic and tasteless, and I assume they add bread to fill you up since you're only getting two tendies. All in all, considering the price, portions, and taste, I rate Dave's Hot Chicken a 6/10.

My sister placed a very big catering order for pickup today. It was supposed to be ready at 10:30 am. I understand that’s when they open. However that order was accepted for pickup at that time. Secondly she called to confirm the night before and she was informed and assured it would be ready by 10:30 am. Come today morning I arrive at 10:30 am and the staff barely has walked in. They recieved our order 5 min before opening. The whole situation is VERY DISORGANIZED. I own 5 Resturant around the dfw area and if my Resturants were this mismanaged I would be very disappointed. More than the disorganization I am very annoyed with the behavior of the staff. My husband went in first and stood for 5 minutes at the counter before they made eye contact and finally approached him. We had a party to get to and since our order was big we asked when would it be ready or how long do you need so we can plan accordingly. They kept beating around the bush. Then after 18 minutes of waiting in the car. I go inside. Once again I’m at the counter there is two ladies. I spoke to them and they completely ignored me. Both are not making eye contact with me. Finally the one packing orders looks back at me ā€œare you waiting for meā€ like who else would I waiting for!? What type of customer services is this? If any employee of mine treated customers like this that would be their last day! They are in the customer service industry and I’m not asking for smiles and rainbows but at-least have the decency to not ignore people when they are directly...
