First Timer here. I’m around this area all the time because of work and I was really wanting caldo de res Salvadoreño (Salvadoran style beef soup) but my mom who always makes it for me lives down in Houston and I’m still new In the DFW area. So the craving was surreal and I googled “ Salvadoran food near me” and the two places that seemed to have the best reviews were this and some other place. I called in both places just to see if they had it (since it’s Thursday around 5pm, sometimes places only serve soup during the weekend or run out at earlier hours), both places did indeed have it the only difference is one is $8 the other is almost $13 (the ambience looked fancier In the picture, but I’m not about to drop $13 on a soup just because the restaurant decor is nice) so any who, naturally I chose this place where I’m getting my money’s worth and boy did I get my money’s worth. The soup was HUGE. They were generous with my portion and the soup was hot and it tasted fresh so I loved that. As to the wait, I waited maybe around 20 minutes, to me that’s not bad wait for a soup especially if it’s coming out fresh and good. My waitress was friendly and checked up on me and would keep me updated. This place looks like a total hole in the wall, but that actually is better for me b/c I’m not in there to pay for fancy decor, as long as the place is clean, that’s what matters to me, and the place was clean. The soup was really good, I wouldn’t call in food orgasm but it still was very good and it hit the spot. Definitely coming back. Hopefully once I’m off my keto diet, i can try their Pupusas, pan con gallina (Salvadoran chicken sandwich), pastelitos, yuca con chicharrón, empanada de plátano and the rest of the Salvadoran wonders that I’ve...
Read moreThe food is good but not as good as it was before. I don't know but the food seems like it's done with no love lol before it tasted so good my wife and I got hooked bad and now it just taste like nothing I guess they forgot how they season in El Salvador. We use to come to this place like every 2 weeks or sometimes once a week I actually brought my wife here on our first date. We would always bring friends and family to show off this restaurant but now we bearly come over(we actually had dinner on Saturday here lol). I'm not writing this review to make y'all look bad because that is not my intention. We would really appreciate it if y'all would please make the food taste like before. We usually order the Mariscada con crema And like I said before its nothing like before. Before the bowl would come with so many seafood creatures and now you get lucky if you get one crab leg. I'm a proud Salvadorean and this restaurant was the place i would go to when I wanted to feel like I was back at home eating my momma's food. So please fix it 🙏🙏🙏 and I'm giving y'all 5 stars because of good customer service and the restaurant is always very clean. I will give y'all this the waitresses are very nice and...
Read moreWent here in the early morning looking for a good breakfast and the service was awful! Had been here before a couple of times for lunch and it was “ok” but wanted to give it another chance. We were waiting outside for about 20 minutes since they don’t open until 6am and that’s ok. We were waiting outside and a few workers/ waitress passed by and no one said a word. Just stared at us; no “ good morning” nothing. It got to 6am….6:05 and lights inside were still off so at 6:10am we decided to go in since they state on their door that they open at 6am and a lady shouts from the back “we’re not open yet” so we just left. Never coming back again. How hard is it to at least welcome us in and sit us down and perhaps offer some coffee to start the morning. If you’re not going to be ready by the time you say on your door then put a later time. It’s so hard finding a good salvadorian restaurant and that breaks my heart. Head down to Lirios tho, they have good food and a...
