I came for an impromptu lunch. I ordered jackfruit vindaloo veg burger and paneer tikka wrap.
Food: the jackfruit vindaloo burger was a welcome change to standard Indian menus in the area. It was a good balance of sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed the chunks of grilled pineapple and the quantity of jackfruit in the burger. However, I prefer more savory items so I personally likely wouldn’t order it again.
The paneer tikka wrap was very tasty. Starting with the warm perfectly cooked naan, then flavorful paneer tikka and sauce, topped with the cabbage slaw. A very tasty wrap. My complaint was the size of it. I felt the wrap was skinny and I was thinking maybe there would be more fillings like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, etc. While I enjoyed it, I questioned if it was worth $10 for a piece of naan and the limited filling. (I’m comparing pricing to ordering a veggie wrap and chips at non-Indian establishments). Also, it would be nice to have some chips or fries that come along with the meal. I did ask for it later and they offered it complimentary afterwards… would be nice to just see this standard with all burgers and wraps. The fries were hot and crispy!
Ambiance: since this was impromptu, I wanted something fast casual and I thought this place really delivered. I liked being able to walk up to the counter and order what I wanted and wait for my food. The decor is tasteful, the lighting is inviting, and the place was clean.
Service: There weren’t a lot of people there so I had a good experience. The food came out hot and within 15 min of ordering. They were kind enough to give me extra sauces upon my request. For leftovers, I appreciate the self-serve to-go boxes available. No complaints.
I would be back and would be curious to try a few more things. Perhaps they could add on some accompaniments to the plates and earn...
Read moreI visited this restaurant in July with my baby around 8:50 PM and deeply regret it. I ordered daal and okra curry with specific dietary instructions: no spice, no onions, and no garlic. What followed was an utter disaster.
First, the daal came after almost 1.5 hours in a disgusting aluminum prison-style bowl — completely disrespectful presentation. It was loaded with onions, garlic, and chili powder, completely ignoring my request. When I complained, a corrected version came out suspiciously fast in just 5 minutes. Clearly, they were just making excuses before.
Then, the okra curry took another hour to arrive and again had onions and garlic. After I called it out, they finally brought the correct version. The entire ordeal lasted 3 hours, and the staff — especially the person managing the orders — showed zero guilt or accountability.
As for the food? Absolutely horrible. Tasteless, greasy, and laughably small portions. To top it off, it’s outrageously overpriced for the low quality.
During my stay, I witnessed at least two other customers demand refunds right in front of me. No one looked happy. If this is how the owner runs a business — ignoring customers, serving inedible food, and delivering it with arrogance — then honestly, it’s time to shut it down.
Save your time, money, and stomach. I will never step foot in this place again, and I strongly urge others to...
Read moreNO. Look I get it, small business, be nice.. but I'm sorry. The lady at the front desk was not very friendly at all. I asked a simple question about spices and she just said "NO" and walked away. There was no one inside the restaurant at the time, her attitude was enough to make me NOT want to support this local business.
I ordered online for pickup. When I arrived home, I noticed several things were missing from my order. I should have checked, but the bag was stapled shut and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was charged for but was missing items i paid for. When i called the establishment, she was again, very short with me, too busy to talk and said she would return my call. Guess what, she never did.
The food, while tasty, but the chicken ratio was very far off. For a $13.99 Tikka Masala with chicken, there was BARELY any chicken. Same with the butter chicken, $13.99 and again, barely chicken, a ton of the sauce, but the chicken was virtually non-existent, so if your looking for protein in your meal, move along.
I'll end this by saying, I will never go back to this establishment, and am sorry if this review angers anyone, but with a ton of other places to eat in the Irving area you've got to up your game. I wrote the missing items off as, oh well, not going there again.
Give it a try if you want, maybe just a bad day, I don't know, but...
