I came here because of the reviews and so Here is mine. Spot is a little hidden and the parking is uncomfortable, the outside seating was nice but once we walking no one greet us. We open the door and it was crowded so we ask a server that was taking care of a family if we could sit outside. She later brought us the menu. The main reason of my visit was 2 items the lobster (in creole sauce which is hard to find) and the paella. Once I ask of the lobster the server said no lobster available.... What??? All the signs on the keys advertised lobster season and no lobster. All right so I order paella and my husband shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were good in flavor but not impressive. The yucca fries and the tostones were really good but the paella was very far from what a paella should be. The portion was huge but the mussels were not cooked correctly since they weren't open. Also was way too much wet and was bland. There is a key ingredient in a paella and this one didn't have it....
Read moreHad the mahi fish tacos. There were three tacos per order and your choice of a side. The taco was basic and tasted fresh with a flour tortilla, lettuce and a basic tomato and onion garnish with a couple of lime slices. When I say basic it's actually a good thing because the mahi was hands down the BEST fish I had while staying in the Key's all week and eating fish every day. The flavor, texture and portion were awesome. The service was a little slow. It took longer than expected to get our food (just the wife and I) and there was only one other table while we were there with two people and they already had their food. A small inside eating area with about 4-5 tables and then more seating outdoors right on the water/marina. If I were to visit the area again I'd stop back and try more food based on the fish alone. A small, local restaurant that's worth a try...
Read moreThis was a stop for us as we drove from Miami to the Keys. We’re from Maine and I can only equate it to the Florida Keys version of eating at a marina-side seafood shack. They are serving super fresh fish and freshly caught shrimp among other lunch/dinner menu items, plantains of any variety, Cuban coffee… There’s something for any type of eater on the menu and a kids menu as well. I had blackened shrimp tacos and they were absolutely delicious. Dishes are accompanied by a range of homemade aiolis. Our server was an extremely charming woman who was somehow touched by our family’s awful but earnest attempts to order in Spanish. I’d say worth a stop if you are thinking of a quick and casual delicious meal. We sat outside at picnic tables but there’s also a small indoor seating area with AC. Outdoors seating is alongside a marina and dive...
