KFC — Restaurant in Jackson

Oy. Where do I start? I do not recommend this KFC at all.

This place is filthy inside! The outside looks decently kept up, but walk inside just once and you won't eat there again. Floors haven't been cleaned in a long time. Counters, walls, windows, handles... everything is VERY dirty. Even the big picture on one wall inside had messy greasy hand prints all over the left corner. There was trash on the floor in the eating area. There was soda and ice EVERYWHERE by the self-service drinks. It's a slip-and-fall hazard by that machine.

The bathroom needs a lot of cleaning. The floors, walls, handrails, doorknobs, sink... again everything is very dirty. This is beyond needing sweeping. It needs a power scrubber because it is incredibly dirty everywhere.

Then - to top it off - they do not use plastic gloves in food preparation at this KFC. I witnessed the cashier - who handles money which is dirty, and touches everything else behind the counter bare-handed - using tongs (as he should) to load a full bucket for a customer at the counter. He blocked her view, though, when he PUT HIS BARE HAND ON THE CHICKEN to smash it down so he could get the lid on the bucket!! GROSS! I was seated to his side and saw it quite clearly. Wish I'd gotten video or a picture because I would have forwarded that gem to headquarters.

Next - the food. I had the 5 piece tenders with a side of potatoes & gravy and a biscuit, plus this came with a medium drink. The biscuit was cool (not cold yet, but getting there). Their butter wouldn't melt or soften on it, and the biscuit was old and dry. The potatoes and gravy dish was barely warm on the bottom. The rest was cold. Who eats cold gravy? It went in the trash. The chicken was good, though it was reasonably hot enough, not dry, and it was extra crispy like it should be. I ate the chicken. It could have been fresher though, as it seemed like it had been in holding a little while. It was still edible, thankfully. The cold potatoes & gravy went in the trash. I had raspberry iced tea that was pretty bad - way too sweet and strong on the raspberry taste - maybe an adjustment needs to be made on the machine.

To top it off, it was absolutely freezing inside. What the hell the A/C was blowing for when it was only 39°F outside, I don't know. This did not help the atmosphere of the filthy restaurant with the cool food. It was COLD in there!! :(

Let me note that I have eaten inside this KFC before, about 5-6 months ago. THAT time it was nice inside! The place was clean and a good temperature inside. The food was HOT and really good that time! I won't eat at this place even in the drive-thru after witnessing an employee with dirty hands press his bare hand on the chicken.

Makes me wonder what goes on in the part of the kitchen I could NOT see!! KFC - get your act in gear. CLEAN THE RESTAURANT! TEACH THE EMPLOYEES...

If I could give zero stars, I would have. Says open until 9pm, yet I couldn't place an online order at 7:55 pm. We decided to drive there, and got there around 8:10pm, but the sign wasn't lit up and the entire building was dark, except for a security light. We pulled in, just to park, so we could figure out another place to go to. When we went to leave, we saw someone ordering at the drive-thru, so we got in line. So, they were hoping to not have any customers for the last hour they were open? The employee taking our order was very rude, and kept interrupting me. When I told her what sauces I wanted, she rudely said, "I'll ask that at the window." Got to the window, she handed me the food, went to give me three drinks and when I asked for a carrier, she copped an attitude. I asked my husband if the sauces were in there and he said no. When I asked for the sauces, she sighed and rolled her eyes. We got home and one of the sides wasn't the right one. Nothing was warm, let alone hot. The chicken tenders and fries were all stale. Both were incredibly dry and disgusting. I ate two bites of chicken and a few fries and threw it all away. Neither my husband or son, came close to finishing their meals. What a waste...

We pulled up to the drive-thru and saw the sign: "Pick a Box – $7" "Upgrade to a Large for $2.49 (includes a side and drink)"

Joel orders the $7 three tender box and asks to upgrade the side. The worker says, “I can’t do that, but I can add a large side.” Joel says, “Okay, then just add a large side.”

I ordered a number 4: three tenders, a biscuit, and fries. We left with:

Joel’s box: three tenders, mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuit, and strawberry puffs

We get home, and it’s all trash:

Joel’s food? Everything was nasty—except the mashed potatoes. And even those had brown gravy, which isn’t what KFC normally uses.

The biscuits were rock hard

The tenders were dry and chewy

The chicken nuggets were barely edible

The fries I got with my meal were absolutely disgusting

And the customer service was just as bad. The drive-thru worker had an attitude about every small thing Joel asked. I could hear it from the passenger seat—snappy, dismissive, zero courtesy. When we pulled up to pay, she barely looked at us or acknowledged we were even there.
