The "new" location just re-opened on NW Ave and it was a HORRIBLE experience. I am married, and we have multiple holiday functions to attend during December, so for one of our family Christmas dinners we chose to try Los Tres Amigos catering services as there are billboards throughout Jackson advertising it. HUGE MISTAKE! Not only did we pay $117 for the catering, I showed up to pick up our order ON Christmas Eve and was told my order was at their other location...so I drove to the NW Ave location and was told they never prepared the order because I didn't pre-pay (which I had). After arguing with them they called the other location (which I just left) and found out yes I did in fact pre-pay; told me they would start the food asap. No apology from anyone for their rudeness or for making me drive around on Christmas eve at almost 5 pm.
*BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: When I asked to speak to the manager, I told him how ridiculous this entire situation was, I hadn't even completed my sentence before he immediately cut me off and started yelling over me! I was told -verbatim- "If I don't like it I don't have to eat here ever again!" I was shocked... I have never paid so much money for such an inconvenience AND to be treated with such disrespect...I will never dine with them again based on principal. I cannot justify spending money in a place that treats customers in this fashion.
Oh and we ended up having pizza on Christmas because when I did finally get home, the food was disguising; none of my family could eat it. One star...
Read moreIf you like authentic fajitas where they skirt the beef and marinate the beef and chicken, then grill it right before putting it on a red hot iron and bring it out sizzling to your table, don't go here for that. I've gotten good meals here before but the fajitas are probably the worst thing they do here and getting 3 tacos for $11 less would be a much better value. Very little protein and if you were blindfolded you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the chicken and the steak. Both tough, dry and overcooked. The corn tortillas looked like they were heated at lunch ( it was 6 pm). The mostly green pepper and onions were completely broken down and mushy. They cook them ahead of time and hold them on a steamtable. There was maybe 2 tablespoons of pico de gallo that came with it and it was old and sour and had no cilantro or jalapenos. The menu said choice of black bean refried or pinto beans but the pinto beans apparently are refried too. The rice was cold. An extremely loud blender or vacuum ran for 20 minutes in the kitchen. I know this sounds petty but it was just awful food and for the same money I could have gotten their porterhouse. I was greeted right away and the food only took minutes (precooked) and the server checked back. I'll go back, but I'll never order...
Read moreAs we entered , it was busy but the cashier/seating area only appeared to have 1 host/seater, etc. So it took a minute for them to get organized. PS No door held open or a Greating. Just a mechanical "how many?". The waiter although a super great attitude was not trained on suggestive selling . He was an order taker and not a salesperson. Thus his tip could have been much bigger, if the checks total was bigger !!! But as it was , all the food was good and average except the free basket of chips that were old, hard and cold. We thought they were served warm???? So I asked and he said "Come back tomorrow" and hopefully they will warm.!?!? If I want a Chicken Quesadila , I will make a better one at home......for 1.50 vs the 6.50 I was chardged. In the end, Service =2.75 Stars. Food =2.5 Stars. Hospitality/Genuine Concern 2 Stars ! Value = 2 Stars . I know what restaurants are capable of and those who meet and/or exceed Guests expectations. Los Tres barely almost met average: in todays "just get by" short term restaurant thinking. 2.5 Stars. The value just isnt there, until they get a little better in service skills or lower their prices on very inexpensive...
