New Country China Buffet — Restaurant in Jackson

Very disappointed, I went here with my gf for dinner a while ago and still regret it. So first off even before we ate here we go take out which was shrimp lo mein, it tasted fine however i do remember us both having the feeling that it was resurrecting and trying to crawl back up. The second time was us wanting to go somewhere different and boy we should’ve listen to our intuition. We almost didn’t go because we walked up to the door then returned to the car and debated more. When we entered we were greeted kindly and sat at our booth, everything seemed okay until we got our food and sat down, the food tasted off then we noticed that the shrimp still had poop in them and there were fruit flys buzzing around the sushi we got and going in and out of my plates. We start panicking on what we should do and decide to just pay and leave. Then we decided to call and complain and we’re told that the bugs have been an issue and they were sorry and offered a free meal. We took it but won’t ever use it. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because this place really needs to improve. After a neighbor recommended this buffet over the other one in town (which I usually go to and like), I decided to give it a try. Sadly, it was a huge letdown. None of the food we tried was fresh or warm. The pepper chicken had good flavor but was so rubbery I couldn’t eat it. Everything else tasted old, overcooked, or like it had been sitting out for hours. They have a sign that says “Eat what you get,” but that’s hard to do when what you get is inedible. By the end of the meal, every plate on our table was covered in wadded-up napkins with food we had chewed and had to spit out. That’s how bad it was. We left hungry and honestly feeling kind of sick to our stomachs. I wouldn’t be shocked if I end up with food poisoning later. Really disappointed, and definitely won’t be back. Do Not Eat Here!! My daughter took a bite of her egg roll and immediately wanted to spit it out (she’s not a picky eater so that was strange she didn’t like something, especially an egg roll) I took a bite of my egg roll being skeptical and almost threw up on the table. I couldn’t even swallow it. I HAD to spit it out. It tasted like rotten meat!! In a vegetable egg roll. I’ve never had more disgusting food in my life. I instantly got up and told my kids we’re leaving. I payed for one dish out of 4. The woman host said she’d give me 20% off. I said no! I’m calling the health department Monday morning as soon as they open. I NEVER complain especially to the point of not paying.
