I tried The Pig & Pint BBQ for the first time the other Saturday, and I have to say that it was a delightful and interesting experience. As soon as we walked in I really liked the ambiance and the outdoor layout (I just wish there was more indoor seating where there was air conditioning lol🥵) and we loved the friendly and hospitable service from start to finish; everyone was so kind. I got their brisket plate with the comeback coleslaw and smoked mac n cheese with iced tea. Overall, the food was great. The brisket was nice and tender just how I like it and tasted good; I really enjoyed their classic Mississippi BBQ sauce and their Carolina Mustard BBQ sauce too (that one was unique to me). The coleslaw was a bit different than what I expected, like I knew that it would be tossed in a comeback sauce as the name implies, but I expected it to also have a bit more of a sweetness and vinegary notes; it reminded me more of a crab salad base which was interesting and unique but I just think it may have been better with a bit of sweetness and vinegary acidity like typical coleslaw. But the smoked mac n cheese was absolutely AMAZING!!! It was so good, rich, and creamy🥴🤤😋 I DEFINITELY recommend that side dish for anybody wanting to go there! The bread and the tea were good too (I got the unsweetened tea and added lemon and sweetened it to my taste so that's a little more ambiguous and subjective). I also tried some of my dad's ribs and fried green tomatoes which were pretty nice too. One thing I really loved tho was the classic old school blues music they had playing on the radio which really set the mood and how they have rolls of paper towels at each table so you don't have to beg for napkins. And they give you good portions for decent prices. As I mentioned earlier, I just wished they had more indoor seating space to be where there's air conditioning, but I did enjoy my outdoor dining experience there which allowed me to see this cool moth (in the last picture) that I thought was a leaf at...

Update: made it back after a couple years... Huge improvement over my last visit here. Came with a friend after work, we live out of town. And we were both happy with our meals. We kept it simple and light this time, just brisket meals. They were legit, damn good tasting. Next time I come back in a few days I may try the ribs... (Had little Willy's ribs the other night don't bother that's trash) I do like the environment, nice outdoors area, the sides we got were solid. I'll be back in a few days to try another meal. Glad I came back and gave it another shot, definitely wasn't let down this time.

So I was visiting Jackson for the week. Wanted to try some local bbq. I tried this place first and got the pitmaster sampler for 30$.... Ok this place is vastly overrated. The brisket was two strips the size of a thick slick of bacon, no good. I tried the pulled pork, what is this seasoning they are using cinnamon? No good without bbq sauce, luckily that was decent. The ribs.. these were terrible, very chewy and not done. I ate one bone of the four the best I could, and just tossed the rest back on to the plate. The bbq beans were good no issue there. The potato salad was a no go, could be it's just a taste im not accustomed too. I paid a premium price for very little food and very little tasted good. Not bashing the place, I don't do that. But I want to inform other people and help save them from my experience. I won't be going back for a second chance.

The next day I went to a local hole in the wall bbq joint and had a much better experience and was 10$ cheaper for the same platter with more food...

My family and I were in Jackson and decided to stop by this bbq restaurant based on the reviews. Evidently the people with the 4 and 5 stars have never had good bbq. This place would be out of business if it were located in my hometown. We were told by the cashier that this place was known for their brisket and ribs. So my wife ordered half a rack of ribs with the green beans and pork rinds. I ordered the brisket with bbq beans and potato salad. Our food did come out pretty quick. We split the ribs and brisket between each other. The brisket was literally 2 slices of meat and half of each slice was nothing but fat, not very much meat for $15.99. The beans were average, they tasted like Bush's beans right out of the can, they could have doctored them up some, the potato salad was horrible, it has a awful after taste, the brisket was decent but only 2 slices and each had alot of fat on them, the bread was cold, apparently it had been toasted a while before we received it. Their sweet bbq sauce isn't very good, taste like heinz bbq sauce right out of the bottle. My wife's ribs were tender but whatever seasoning they use on their ribs isn't very good, her bread was also cold, she said the green beans were average and the pork rinds were average. This was our first and last time visiting this restaurant. If you are looking for above average bbq and don't want to spend $45 on food that is way below average, then I would stay away from this place. 👎👎 Just got home from eating at this place (2 hrs later) my wife is sick and...

We went here for a quick date night dinner. We had a craving for barbeque and overall we were not disappointed. I ordered the half rack of ribs, and he ordered pulled pork tacos. I was surprised to find that the ribs came with a slice of toast, which I could not eat, but he did. The ribs were well seasoned, and some parts were soft and tender, but there were sections that were too tough for me to stomach, so he ate some, but some were even too tough for him. On the side I got the southern baked beans, which I was warned were sweeter, but there were sweeter than cinnamon rolls. Overlooking that, they had a nice flavour, but didn't seem to have a long cook time. The onions weren't even translucent. He says that even though he isn't a taco expert, he thought the pulled pork tacos were good. He loved the barbeque sauce, and the nice taste of the slaw and sweet mangoes. Food aside, the atmosphere of this joint was amazing! Very kid friendly, with giant Jenga and chalk for the little ones to draw on the cement all around. I enjoyed watching them all as we ate. Great outdoor seating, and plenty of it! The staff was extremely accommodating to my allergies and knowledgeable about their food, which I appreciate. Service was within a reasonable time. I will say that their printed menu was a little confusing. I found myself searching for the classics, like the ribs. Overall, not a bad first experience. Will try something different next time, since the ribs didn't hold up to my expectations.

Updated We were just driving through the area and heard about this place so we stopped in. Overall its a good bbq place, the atmosphere and service were great and I can see coming back again. All of the of the sides and especially the brisket weren't that great, but the ribs and selection of sauces at the table kinda make up for it. A bbq place should have decent sides, but there wasn't one thing we ordered that we'd order again Also try the pork belly corn dog. I've never had pork belly, but I was really pleased. Eating bbq outside is the only way to go IMO and the majority of the seating is outdoors. There's ample parking on site. Also you make your order at the desk and they bring it out to you. Its a decent place, but we're gonna have to try other menu items when we're in the area again. The atmosphere and service are doing the heavy lifting here. Update: We ordered take out this time we were in the area and it was just Ok. The ribs were better the first time around last year, but the sides were awesome this time. I think I get what some reviewers said when they questioned if the ribs were done in an oven or smoked in the pit. However maybe since the ribs sat before we picked them up this might have had an affect on things. Again its fantastic bbq,but not the best. We're still coming here anytime we're in Jackson
