I have been waiting months to review this place, as I wanted to have visited at least a few times first.
The good: the atmosphere here is awesome. A huge jumbo screen in the back with the game playing and several places to sit and enjoy. Also in the back are corn hole and ping pong… it really is a fantastic space.
The Bad: service could be better. Many reviewers over the past two years comment on how the service seems to be lacking. Every time I’ve been the waiter or waitress seemed to have been working their first week, if not their first day. For that to be possible this place must experience some significant attrition. In the most recent visit on March 7th 2025, the waitress clearly didn’t know how to operate the handheld POS device used to take orders. Having said that, they have always been friendly and kind.
The Ugly: The restaurant (and Menu) hypes itself as a pizza joint. When walking through the restaurant, a huge pizza oven is visible on the left side of the facility, leading you to think they have high quality, homemade pizza. I can’t stress enough, after multiple visits , how terrible their pizza actually is. While some reviewers may disagree, I can only assume they have limited pallets that only were engaged with pizzas that were frozen or served at a carnival. The dough tastes like it started its life frozen, having been prepared at a factory from Sysco. The pizza sauce was equally disappointing , being overly seasoned. Last year a worker told me they hand made their sauce from fresh San Marzano tomatoes… which sounds cool, but in a million years I could never connect the dots between tomato sauce so purely Italian and the sauce I struggled to stomach on these pizzas. In short, if you plan on coming here, get your pizza ahead of time, then come here for drinks and the game/live music afterwards.
Lastly, I’ll say I consider myself a champion of Jackson’s food scene, and I want restaurants like the Station to thrive. And while the concept and atmosphere hits the mark, the service is lacking, and the food is abysmal to all but the most elementary of pallets. I hope they soon hit their stride, but until that day,...
Read moreWhen we pulled up we had high hopes for the place , they were quickly dashed. We sat down looked like the place needed a good cleaning , we were the only ones there so employees could be cleaning BUT instead they were sitting at the bar talking very loud and cursing like they were all alone. Very disrespectful to customers. We ordered bruschetta and a margarita pizza. After about 15 minutes they come out and tell us they don’t have the pesto to make the bruschetta and ask if we want something else we ordered the pretzels. Our pizza came out it was burnt and had no basil on it like a real margarita should. Not the flavor was good I really like the crust . They have a great wood fired oven which is why I got really excited when I saw it. Unfortunately they have a piece of equipment they don’t know how to use. They must just shove them in and walk away never turning it or staying with oven. After we were almost finished with our meal our appetizer showed up and it was hard pretzels probably from a bag that were so greasy they were not eatable and the sauce that came out with them , I have no idea what that was. It’s a real shame because it has the potential to be a great place , clean it up stop using nasty profanity in front of customers and learn how to use your equipment. Maybe they can...
Read moreI recently visited The Station and had a truly terrible experience. As an active military member who flew in from Alaska, I was looking forward to enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The hostess was amazing, providing a warm welcome and excellent service. However, the rest of the visit was extremely disappointing.
After placing my order, I was informed that it would take about 30 minutes. However, we ended up waiting for two hours! During that time, we saw multiple customers who arrived after us get seated, served, and leave, all before we even got our food.
To make matters worse, after the long wait, the staff informed us that they had run out of pizza dough. How can a pizza place run out of dough during peak hours? This level of mismanagement is unacceptable. There was no apology, no offer to make things right, just a lot of waiting and frustration.
When we finally received our pizza, it was undercooked. To add to the disappointment, I noticed there was no changing table in the restrooms, which made it incredibly inconvenient for my family to change our young child.
I will not be returning to this establishment and would advise others to avoid it if they value their time, a basic level of service, and properly...
