I have been to this particular location several times and I have had an amazing experience. But, I really don't appreciate ny children and I being overlooked! I arrived here around 6:50 and didn't leave until 9:15. Our waiter, which was very nice, was leaving work at a certain time. We had the cheese fritter, for our starter. Now, in past time, they were AMAZING. But, tonight they were overcooked...you could taste the burned flavor on the crust. I didn't say anything about it. We waited the normal waiting time for our meals, to be prepared. I ordered the seafood pasta, the kids spaghetti and the kids pepperoni pizza. My daughter's meatball wasn't thoroughly cooked in the middle. So, Matt, another waiter, offered to get us another one. We ate a little more and then we waited on, SOMEONE...ANYONE, to come check on us and receive our bill. We finally were offered To-Go boxes and our bill. I assumed as soon as I put my card inside of the checkbook, that Matt would take it. He didn't! My children and I are tired, at this point. So, I waited patiently the entire time, I was there and I was in disbelief, of how we were being overlooked. I do understand that our original waiter was leaving work at a certain time l, and that Matthew had other customers to tend to. But, my family are customers, as well. My children fell asleep and I had to stand up, for him to come get my card, pay...
Read moreUpdate: Amerigo’s more than made this right. With everything going on, I’ve been slow to make this update and that’s on me. I can’t wait to try them again. Next time will be a family event.
Thank you, Amerigo’s!
My mother is in ICU on a ventilator. I have to make sure my elderly dad eats properly. I called Amerigos at Fondren, placed an order for two people, and went to pick it up. The lady at carry out didn’t bother to acknowledge me. Finally, someone told me to step to the podium. The guy who prepared it brought it out. I asked him multiple times if there were utensils. He said they are in the brown bag. I said ok and went back to the ICU. Lo and behold, there was one set of utensils that I gave to my dad who is over 85 yo. I had to eat with my fingers and the ICU nurses had to stop what they were doing to locate me a napkin. Folks, stop hiring for appearance and start hiring for competence. I even left this little smart eleck a tip.
There is no food quality that can overcome eating with your fingers in the ICU....
Read moreAmerigo in Fondren was an absolute disaster. Before I start with the things I did not like, I would love to point out that our server, Bree, was absolutely perfect. She was so sweet and she did her best to make sure that we felt right at home. The food was horrible. They ran out of ribeyes, red fish, and etc. We resulted in ordering the porkchops,!only to find out that they gave us thick slices of ham instead of pork chops. I have been to the Amerigo in Flowood and their version of the porkchop was completely different. My mother ordered the Shrimp and Grits, she said that the grits were gummy and the shrimp was fishy. We also ordered Cheese Fritters and they were fried too hard. The atmosphere was gorgeous and comfortable. The food was just...
