Went there tonight as a last minute option after plans got cancelled. Was unsure because the previous owners sauce left much to be desired in my households opinion. While I don't like my BBQ drenched in sauce, I do like a little. When I arrived, I specifically asked if they changed the sauce and pointed out that they stated they were keeping it per a FB post. They kindly explained that they did in fact choose to discontinue the old sauce but always had their own as well. They even let me try it. It was delicious. Sweet, tangy, with just a touch of heat that most people can handle.
We ordered a lb of sliced brisket (though they were out after my order and let us know that it was going to be slightly more fatty, which we were okay with). We also ordered a lb of pork and a half rack of ribs. We got the BBQ Beans and potato salad as sides. The meats were phenomenal! The brisket was perfectly done, fat rendered deliciously, smoked to perfection. The bark on it was so tasty! The ribs were to die for! Juicy and fall off the bone but still perfectly smoked! The pulled pork I swear is probably the best I've ever had.
The BBQ Beans were thick in sauce, somewhat sweet and had a peppery flavor (think some type of 'green' pepper vs black peppercorn). The Potato salad was definitely my least favorite thing. Might be to others tastes, but was somewhat sweet, had smaller chuncks, and somewhat eggy. (unsure if it had actual eggs in it. Did not dig around to find out.)
All in all, the two sides we got were what we liked least, though we are quite curious about the smoked mac 'n cheese. The meat is hands down some of if not the best BBQ we've ever had!
On top of all that - the experience there while waiting for our order was wonderful. Everyone was kind, caring, and genuinely wanted their customers to enjoy their food.
HIGH FIVE YOU GUYS! Keep it up!!...
Read morethis place is the definition of a place that may have been good 10-15 years ago, but it seems on the downhill slide. My first trip I tried the rib tip dinner got two mac n cheese as sides. the texture of the meat seemed it had been cooked still frozen and not allowed to thaw. In turn, creating a tougher chewier meat, gotta let the meat thaw before cooking. even though chewy, the flavor was good, even though it was drowned in what I assume is home made sauce. The mac n cheese was a weird bright orange color, took one bite and it was sweet and not appealing. Basically, it is the cheapest pre made mac n cheese their food distributor provides, I would suggest avoiding it.
Second trip: Half rack of ribs (meat only) Ribs are the premier food item at any BBq place and it was exemplified at the Bar B Que Shack. While their rib tips were under par, their ribs are the reason for the 3 star. They were good meaty and made the way I like, 'dry', not smothered in sauce.

Read moreHighly disappointed and very concerned for public safety. Last year this was my go to place for bbq. After tonight my shadow will never cross their threshold . Tonight , my wife and I had planned to cover dinner for my in laws ( who are the sweetest people) ,we decided on barbecue Shack , we called in a pickup order and away we went. Picked up the food on the way .Every thing was perfect so far. We arrive at her sisters house and ya da ya da ya da we set down to eat this food that I’d been smelling and drooling about for 20 or so minutes . But the meat had a strong taste petroleum like charcoal lighter taste , we couldn’t eat it . This business really owes my wife debt of gratitude because she made me go straight home afterwards instead of stopping by the restaurant. They ought to be ashamed of themselves for selling that stuff to the public. I would encourage all bbq lovers to check it for yourselves but at least you have been warned. Lighter fluid flavored pork should not cost 55 bucks...
