Stopped in after an appointment in the area, not really close to home. Really cute decor and Mediterranean music playing and smelling delicious! Past lunchtime, so it wasn't super busy. Ordered the spicy eggplant appetizer that came with freshly made, delicious, warm pita bread. Yummy! Big plate! Not really super spicy! Also the Gyro bowl which also had warm pita. The gyro meat was delicious and the bowl packed with rice ,peppers and cucumber, a long with tzatziki sauce. A huge serving!!! Very impressed! 2 to-go bags with what I didn't eat. Reasonable prices, delicious authentic food in a nice setting with good service. Place was very clean! Would go back!! Update: So, I went back a few months later for another (thanks, Doc!!) appointment) Got a nice table with servers ready to go, same lovely atmosphere, like you are in the Mediterranean! Decided to order a Greek beer, nice chilled glass...super yummy! Had the grape leaves appetizer that was delicious with tzatziki sauce. They offered a free Lentil soup that was really delicious!!!! I went for the same gyro bowl from before, just as good and a lot for leftover at home. They have SUCH nice staff and the food is delicious, authentic, fresh and plentiful. Please try them out, like taking a vacay for a little while!!

Just recently visited Jacksonville. While looking for a restaurant to eat at, I came across Bodrum Mediterranean Kitchen. I love trying new foods, and this seemed perfect. Why all of Jacksonville is not coming to this little restaurant in a strip mall is beyond me. The food was so good we were talking about it for days. If you are looking for Mediterranean food and authentic Mediterranean food, you must not leave Jacksonville before coming here. It's just a little place with huge flavor. After ordering, they first serve you with a cup of complimentary Lentil Soup. If anything, stop in for this soup. It will blow your mind! For the appetizer, we ordered the Falafel. Very good. I ordered the Lamb Chops for my entrée. It was the best I've ever had. They don't overload it with rosemary or mint. It's just amazing grilled lamb chops. It comes with fresh pita and fixings. I can't believe how good it was. We also ordered the Veggie Bowl and Creamy Chicken. It was like Mama was back in the kitchen cooking up dinner. If I lived in Jacksonville, I would be here all the time. Very clean restaurant. The bathrooms we also clean. It is very well decorated with a great vibe. It was an overall excellent experience! Do yourself a favor and check out Bodrum!

Summary - good tasting food, poor takeout service Ordered about ten meals for the week on two separate occasions. The food itself is pretty tasty, well seasoned, juicy with good portion size. Not a fan of iceberg lettuce in the platters ... you could replace that with spinach or another vegetable more suitable to being warmed up. Also consider removing the aluminum foil from lamb chop bones so it's microwave-safe. The takeout service varied. Monday night I was given plastic silverware (1 for each meal) and the complementary lentil soup was packaged in larger sturdy bowls with no spillage. Sunday night I was given no silverware, a paper bag that ripped before I even picked it up so I was told to carry out the food in plastic bags when I asked for two new paper bags instead, and cheap packaging with small fragile bowls/lids for the lentil soup that had already spilled some when I picked it up off the counter and half of the eleven containers had broken/spilled all over by the time I drove 10 minutes home. Rest assured, I will not be returning. It's a shame, but if you think it's ok to package soup diagonally or upside down and expect it not the spill, you should not be working in the food industry.

Decided to go for Mother’s Day. Was seated right away. Place is very small. It had a very odd smell as we entered. Complimentary champagne for Mom, which I loved! Ordered the sampler to start which was simply AMAZING. Nothing to complain about. My kids read “pizza” on the menu. It wasn’t good at all, but, the waiter took it back and didn’t charge us for it. The lentil soup was offered with and before my dish. It was GOOD. Could’ve had more flavor/seasoning, really good. I ordered the “sautéed beef.” It was ground beef, and stewed. Not pieces of beef, like I would imagine. Aside from the description being misleading, it was SO good! The reason for the 4 star, instead of the 5. As we sat and waited for our Turkish coffees at the end of our courses, one of the waiters cleaned a table, and sprayed a bottle filled with “purple” stuff, in which we all know is Fabuloso. It made us want to VOMIT. Why would ANY restaurant spray a scented chemical in a food setting? It’s was absolutely awful and we couldn’t wait to LEAVE. Please, Bodrum, stop spraying the purple stuff to wipe down your tables while people are eating!! Simple peroxide or a mild soap and water will do JUST FINE. We won’t be returning, just because of that. It ruined the...
