Our server was amazing. She was sweet and polite. She always had a smile every time she came to our table. This is a server I’d enjoy having every time. The name on the receipt was Delana, but I’m not sure if that was the server or the cashier. The food was delicious. I love their chips. The salsa was mild and didn’t have extra frills, but was still good. We got queso dip which was average. We got three tacos, the surf and turf (without shrimp), Al pastor, and the pollo pina. All three tacos were great!!! I really couldn’t tell you which was my favorite. The hot sauce that comes with the Al pastor is actually hot in comparison with other restaurants around. It was really good and I loved how it had chunks in it. We also got the enchilada supreme. These were good and tasted homemade but I wouldn’t say they were overly better than other places nearby. The only issue I had with enchiladas was the portion size was small in comparison to what I’m used to. Each enchilada seemed half the size of what I would normally get from somewhere else yet the price wasn’t! I did love how they came with guacamole! The guacamole was smooth but some of the best I’ve had. The rice was good. Their pinto beans delicious. Their black beans were great and seasoned well! I ordered a sweet tea and thought the glasses were cute, and their sweet tea is really sweet. Which can be good or bad depending on each individual. It’s always easier to dilute sweet tea with unsweet than it is to make cool unsweet tea more sweet. So I would say it’s a good thing. It’s cute on the inside and has a clean vibe. They also have an outside patio area that’s shaded. One of the downsides was our glasses kept making water marks all over the table. I didn’t think about it until later that I could make my own beverage napkin out of the ones on the table, but it’d be nice if they had their own coasters or at least beverage napkins. Also the check says you get a 4 percent discount for paying in cash which I did pay in cash but was shy about 76 cent on that and I did not receive a receipt showing the paid amount, discount added, or change I was due. I was only given back the original receipt when I received my change. I may have did my math wrong, but my change was 2.68, I think I should have got 3 and some change. My pre tax was 44.95, with tax was 48.32. All in all I would absolutely recommend and will go back. I’m excited to try their adult drinks and...
Read moreI wish I had taken photos of our food. My friend and I planned on going to going to El Potro on Normandy, but they are closed on Sundays. My friend suggested Long Horn on Roosevelt. But I really wanted Mexican, so I searched for Mexican restaurants on Roosevelt. This popped up with a 4.7 out of 5 rating. We wanted to try it. From the moment we walked in and until we left, we were treated with wonderful service. Gabby sat us down and said the server would be with us shortly. She came back and said, "It looks like I'll be your server." If you can get Gabby to serve you, she'll treat you well. She knew about the items on the menu and even suggested stuff for us. I will take photos the next time we go. I ordered the Cali Burrito with ground beef, refried beans (you can get it with black beans), Spanish rice, or white cilantro rice. I got the Spanish rice. Added sauted onions. I got the pico de gallo, guacamole, and sauce on the side. It was a huge burrito and of course I had to get a to go box. My friend ordered the Chimichanga, she tried the white cilantro rice, refried beans, and their side salad (lettuce, Pico de gall with guacamole on top).
We tried their Lemon Tres Leches. For me, it could have been a little bit more lemony, but other than that,...
Read moreUPDATE I had such a tasty experience I went back last Saturday night.
It was crowded but I ordered to go again. This time, the carne asada fries were a huge let down. The fries weren’t crispy or evenly seasoned. The steak was okay, but also not seasoned as well or as fresh as my last time.
The fried cheesecake dessert was okay but the raspberry sauce was definitely not made in house - had that canned weird aftertaste.
For $30, I won’t likely go for a third visit. Consistency is one of my specific preferences.
PRIOR REVIEW: I have to admit, I’m a Mexican food snob after living border adjacent in California for over a decade.
I went with the carne asada fries because I figured I’d at least get some solid fries. I was really impressed with the carne asada: great portion, fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I would have preferred more of the crema and pico, but they were generous on the best parts.
I will absolutely going back to try some of the other dishes.
I ordered to go but it was very cute inside and they included hot, fresh...
