Firstly, let me state how sad I am to be leaving this review. I've been eating at Tidbits for about 20 years. For the longest, this was my fave place to get salads. Nothing beat that Tidbits special salad. However, since the pandemic and I am finding this true with so many establishments that serve food. The portions have gotten smaller but cost more money, and today was the final nail in the coffin for me. The last time I had ordered a Tidbits special salad it was thrown together half the veg was missing and they didn't even include my dressing. It wasn't a huge order only that salad and a sandwich for my husband. And I get that during lunch rushes it gets busy, I've waitressed as well as done food prep for restaurants in the past so yes been there done that. So that salad was terrible and today I got this Taco salad that I've had before because how can you mess it up. It's a bed of lettuce some tortilla chips olives, green onions, cheddar cheese and a side of chili. Well... today what I got was not a salad. It was mostly tortilla chips with maybe a 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce, some cheese and a few olives. No green onions. Now I noticed there was a strange smell something like mildew or maybe it was a fermenting smell? It was funky but I was like meh maybe it's the bag it came in. I poured my chili on this basically barren nacho and as I started to eat the chips I kept smelling it. I started to sniff the chips and thought it was them at first but soon realized it was the lettuce. I quickly spat out what was in my mouth and I'm going to throw this away. The lettuce is sour and could make someone sick! 🤢 luckily I only had a few bites and that was mostly chips and chili but the lettuce was touching the chips so hoping to god i don't have a day full of throwing up and other fun gastric adventures. I am just disgusted at this point. How are you selling this nasty salad that could kill someone or make someone severely ill for 13.00 a pop? Obviously quality left the building back when I had that terrible Tidbits special but I thought it was a fluke. So I won't be ordering from Clara's anymore and buyers beware and also smell what you buy to make sure it's not off. Now I have to order a lunch from somewhere else and spend money I didn't expect today. Clara please stop ripping people off on portions and get some quality control in your kitchen before you...

One cold and rainy afternoon we stopped by Clara's Tidbits Restaurant while passing through Jacksonville. We were surprised upon entering how spacious the restaurant was. There was plenty of seating available, and we chose a window seat in the corner of the room. But before seating, we needed to order. This was done with some success using the kiosks in the lobby area. My sister and brother-in-law tend to complicate their orders more than my wife and I, so they ended up approaching the counter and placing their order with a real human. I'm not sure what the benefits of the kiosks would be, but I suppose if one were a regular at the restaurant it might speed up the ordering process. The restaurant was quite clean. The bathrooms even had a hint of a bleach smell to them, which isn't a bad thing. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient, given that this was our first time. And the food was quite good. My wife and I both ordered sandwiches and soups, and the sandwiches allow for quite a bit of customization. The bread for the sandwiches was soft and the produce used for the sandwiches and salads was fresh and crisp. Clara's Tidbits Restaurant is a winner, and I would definitely consider stopping again while passing through...

This has nothing to do with the food or service. It has to do with keeping the neighborhood clean as neighbors. Tidbits has left trash outside of their company vehicles parking for over a month. MGR Stacey blames the City of JAX and Soba Apts. Being San Marco and Luxury Apts you'd think it would get handled by staff one way or another. When you're paying over $2k for residence you'd think a greater level of responsibility would take place. Tidbits or Soba apts you both make enough money There are dumpsters on both properties for crying out loud. Residents shouldn't have to go to this extreme. TAKE CARE OF IT PLEASE!!! The trash being there is a reflection of our neighborhood. Lastly, why haven't the orange shirt wearing, paid by local businesses Downtown ambassadors reported it? They're in the area daily😡

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to visit this location, due to their days and hours. I work in Mandarin, so it’s too far for me to go there for lunch. But, I was sick and at Baptist Hospital to pick up some medical records. So, I insisted to my driver that it was my treat for lunch at Tidbit’s. The egg salad on pita bread, Cole slaw and a drink, it was delicious! My tide, he had the New Orleans Po Boy, chips and a drink. Pros:great everything! Cons:no parking. But the advantage is you can park free under the expressway. The walkway to cross the street has a button that makes the driver’s to stop for pedestrians crossing the street. Recommend? Absolutely! Every time. #tidbitssanmarco
