My wife and I were in the mood for some pizza today after doing a little bit of shopping and decided to find something local instead of going to the normal fair of Pizza hut or Domino's or even Hungry Howie's. We decided to try something we had never tried before and in the local area. We found Cuban Pizzeria and I read the reviews and one guy commented that there was too much cheese and that was pretty much the gist of it as far as bad reviews. Well I love cheese so I figured I'd go to this place and give him a try! The customer service is absolutely amazing and that's where it ends. The food was literally a DiGiorno's pizza and it had less cheese on it than a small pizza on a thing crusted Domino's would have. It was on and over inflated dough that was probably very old. I used to work in the pizza industry and I understand and know how dough rises and falls. This dough had been sitting out for a while because I can tell from the bottom of the pizza and because of the thickness of the pizza. It tends to give very airy the longer it's out of the cooler. With that being said I figured that well maybe it's because it's a Cuban pizzeria and this is how they make them. But it wasn't because I rather reviews and I've seen pictures from other pizzas that people have posted and they are not like this at all. As I said before, the customer service there is amazing and I gave her a great tip because the people in the industry need it right now. Point blank. But I really was hoping for a better pizza than this. I will not be going back but I suggest that if you do eat or order a pizza...
Read moreI've been here a few times and it was good, but today, today we ordered a mixed pizza. The mixed is supposed to be ALL MEATS and ALL VEGGIES. Well we opted out for the veggies and to keep all the meats. So she says they are out of sausage which was slightly disappointing but we still ordered it. We asked for extra pizza sauce. The pizza comes to the table just warm. Not as much cheese as usual , and little drizzle of sauce on the top. There wasn't any of the original amount of sauce on the base of the pizza. It tasted not as great, again disappointing. Then the bill comes and there is a $4 upcharge for sauce. I voiced my concern they talked it over in Spanish and said sorry I still had to pay. I felt so annoyed at this point. You would think after knowing my pizza was a topping short and no veggies I still paid full price and you charge $4.00 for sauce when it was less than then normal amount that comes on it, also didn't inform me it was $4.00. I feel like anything over $2.00 you should inform your customers about. I will probably...
Read moreThe first thing you see when you sit down to eat at this restaurant is a paragraph describing what makes a cuban pizza different from an american pizza and it specifically says to "not google it!". this is ironic because their menu blurb is actually entirely plaigiarized from an Eater article titled "The Mystery of Miami's Cuban Pizza, Revealed"! To quote the article and also the menu "The final component that differentiates a Cuban pizza is the way it's made. The toppings aren't sprinkled above the pie as they traditionally are; they're baked into it. Thus, you'll never suffer from drop bombed pepperoni or spilt sausage because there's a thick layer of cheese above that tightly holds it all together." Looking at any other picture on the google page shows that this is not true at all.
I also ordered a cuban sandwich which was good, but I (and many others) enjoy hot sauce on my cuban sandwich which they...
