Yum! Everyone enjoyed their meals, and service was wonderful. We were apprehensive being the only table at 5pm on a Sunday. We read the good reviews and felt it was worth a try. The restaurant and bathroom is very clean. We sat and were waited on immediately (might not sound like a big deal in an empty restaurant, but you’d be surprised) Ordered guacamole and queso to start- both fresh and delicious. Enchiladas Mexicanas were very different than your traditional enchiladas, but were very good. Rice and beans were fresh and didn’t taste like they had been sitting around. The tamales with green sauce were wonderful. Very large! The beef soup was very good, full of hearty vegetables and a lot of meat. The broth was perfect on a cool day. Salsas were very good! The homemade tortillas are phenomenal. I hope this place succeeds. We will be back!

The service was great. The lady serving me was such a kind person. She tolerated my bastardizing her native language with great humor. She continually came to make sure everything was going good and was really a lovely person. The atmosphere was authentic Mexican. From the decor to the music it was great. The portions on the food was excellent, however, the California Burrito was bland. Huge, but bland. It had very little flavor but it was quite filling. Overall the experience was nice, not great, but nice. Will I recommend them, yes. Maybe it was my taste buds. I will be back and give it another shot.

Que Padre is a Mexican restaurant on University Boulevard where the Pizza Hut use to be. This building got a major upgrade. The artwork in Que Padre is vibrant and warm. They give you complimentary Chips and salsa. The customer service was great. Very knowledgeable. The Margarita was one of the best I ever had. It was in a slushy form, I was blown away. I had the Steak Biria quesadillas. Very good, the Biria sauce was nice. The corn was delicious. Que Padre is refreshing, I can't wait to try it again.

My boyfriend and I were extremely excited to try this restaurant, the artwork is absolutely gorgeous. However the food and service does not at all match the atmosphere. We were the only customers in the restaurant due to the tropical storm in the area so we assumed we would be properly served. The waitress did not refill our drinks during the duration of our meal. When my boyfriend asked her for to refill his tea she told us “no refill” very rudely and said that we would have to purchase another. Also the only time she checked on our table was when the food was brought out to us. I ordered the Chile rellenos and had to wave her down to inform her that one of them was burned and rock hard. The menu is also extremely difficult to read due to the font style and formatting so please be aware that the online menu and physical in restaurant menus are not the same! The food was definitely overpriced for the quality. The rice was cold and clumped together this indicated to me that it was not freshly made. The tamales were not fresh as well. The ends of the tamales were extremely dry and and hard which is also an indicator they were old or left out. The overall experience was beyond disappointing I would never recommend this...

I hate leaving negative reviews but this was a bad experience. I ordered a Burrito California with mixed steak and chicken.

The first problem was that the burrito took close to 40 minutes to arrive and made me late back to work on my lunch break. There were only three tables including me and when I sat down. I was the second person to order.

The second problem was that the burrito was cold when it arrived. The french fries it came with were hot, I am guessing they sacrificed my burrito by letting it sit around for 8-10 minutes waiting on french fries.

Those issues aside, the burrito was mediocre at best. The steak was extremely tough and fatty. I needed to floss after lunch to get fibres out of my teeth. The chicken was dry. Both had an overwhelming amount of black pepper, more than I have ever experienced in a single dish in my life up to this point.

Service was "fine." Some tables in the dining room were dirty and were never cleaned during the hour that I sat around waiting and not enjoying my lunch. I enjoyed the murals on the walls.

With the extremely slow service and the mediocre, cold burrito, I have to leave this...

There salsa should be against the law. It's super watered down with almost no taste - the very little taste that it does have is the taste of disgust. The chips came out super cold. The quesabirrias are the worst I've ever had and I frequent many Mexican restaurants all over the United States. The service sucked. The waitress disappeared and never checked on us at all after she dropped our food off. When she finally made an appearance she was hunched over the counter on her first phone still not acknowledging us (BY THE WAY WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS THERE!) I jiggled my ice to see if that would get her attention as it's the clear sound of an empty cup that needs a refill! Nope! Nothing! Gave her a little more time and still nothing! I literally had to call out "excuse me" across the restaurant just for her to finally acknowledge us! So anyways I can go on for days but bottom line is - food - service sucks! Will not be back ! At least now I know and I can spread the word! I should have known when I walked into an empty establishment...
