THIS IS THE BEST FIREHOUSE SUBS IN JAX!!!... First of all, the people are so nice and glad to see you when you come in (it's the little things, ya know?). They always make my subs (I go there a lot) look like the picture on the menu...
Short Story: today I ordered a sub from a new cashier, who made an honest mistake of hitting "no mustard" when she meant to hit "no mayo" (which I'm allergic to)... I called the store and they were SO NICE about everything! Not only did they make me a completely new sub (without mayo, it was perfect!) for FREE, they secretly blessed me with a full refund that I didn't even find out about until later. I tried to tip them for their extra work and they refused to except it and said, "no, this is our pleasure!" and gave my tip back to me... Folks, they treated me this way when they were SLAMMED on a lunch rush! Good people are too hard to find for their extra efforts to be ignored! Thank you Firehouse Subs on University!!!
(btw - when I read reviews like this, I usually think it's an employee or affiliate of the business... I DO NOT WORK THERE NOR DO THEY KNOW ME other than seeing my face a several times per month from getting lunch there. They don't even know that I'm writing this review... it was the right thing to do after they did the right thing for me. I'm sincere when I tell you that this is THE BEST Firehouse Subs...
Read moreUpdate-What a mess in there. Still cant make sandwiches right (5 people there to work but o ly one seemed to know what she was doing) and im SO DISGUSTED by their dirty hands. Let's just say that the four meals I saw packed up before mine had nasty fingerprints all over the bags. So the no surprise when I got home with mine and so greasy fingerprints all over the bags I wasn't surprised however Opening Our sandwiches and finding things like pieces of mushrooms and tomato sauce on my bread you really upset me. Especially since I ordered a gluten-free sandwich that should have been handled with care. I think I will be calling the manager today... It can be so hit-or-miss. I'm grateful for the gluten free bread options however I'm not sure why it has to be such a tiny sandwich for so much more money. I'm familiar with gluten-free bread and it doesn't cost that much more. And even so, why would you put like a table spoons worth of meat on a gluten-free roll? Because gluten-free people aren't equally as hungry as the rest? I do enjoy their hot turkey sandwiches as well I just wish there was consistency and for the price you pay enough food to at...
Read moreOrdered lunch through Grubhub for delivery. Asked for one sandwich to have no onions or tomato, also on the order: 8 cookies. Received order ~1 hour later (which was ok, that was the estimated delivery time via GH). Sandwich came with tomato, only 4 cookies. Checked that order was put into GH correctly, called restaurant, they said they would remake sandwich and send other 4 cookies. An hour passes. Call restaurant back, they state order was remade but they will not deliver or call GH driver back, and that I would have to call GH to get it delivered. Call GH, they state that they cannot redispatch driver, they would refund me the cost of what was messed up, I would have to reorder from GH (and pay again) and communicate to the restaurant that the order was the correction. At this point told GH to forget about it because it was already 2.5hours past when I was supposed to get my lunch and I would just go pick up my own FN sandwich. Pick up sandwich and cookies, the remade sandwich AGAIN has tomatoes on it, and the cookies are dried up and misshapen. 10/10 not getting my...
