Best Five Guys I've been to, ever... not just in Jax, but literally ANYWHERE!
Location is completely spotless, and not just the dining area- parking lot, dining area, tables, restrooms, the visible area of the kitchen, ALLLLLL of it- Looks completely brand new.
On top of cleanliness, the staff is exceedingly friendly, well-spoken, professional, and ridiculously efficient 💯💯💯
The employee that took my order (unfortunately I can't remember his name, but it was a black gentleman with a small cheek tattoo) was AWESOME- He wasn't just friendly, he seemed to take genuine pride in doing his job and doing it well, and was invested in making sure the customer (in this case, me) had a positive experience... And not once did ge try to upsell me or "play the game". When I ordered a "Large Cajun Fries", he could've just added it on. Instead, he stopped to make sure I knew just how monstrously large a "Large Cajun Fries" order is- he was more invested in making sure I didn't waste unnecessary money than he was about trying to upsell me on something I didn't need.
The kitchen staff were just as impressive- although I did not get a chance to interact with them directly, I have nothing but good things to say about them. Despite the 'semi-custom' nature of FiveGuys (as in, not a "true" fast food place with ridiculously short waits, and more similar to a 'sit-down' style restaurant), they were FAST- By the time I had washed my hands, grabbed napkins and ketchup, and grabbed my drink, my food was already up. I have to wait longer than that at McD's and BK!
Lastly, the food itself- it was absolutely PERFECT. The burger was cooked to perfection and assembled perfectly. The Fries were hot, fresh, perfectly seasoned, and neither over-cooked or under-cooked... And neither the fries nor the burger were dripping unnecessary grease.
I can't recommend this...
Read moreI've now been to this Five Guys twice. The first time was great - standard Five Guys. That's why I gave them 4 stars. This time, however, while the food was still mostly tasty, they have DRASTICALLY shrunk the portion of fries.
I ordered a regular (medium) fry. If you've ever been to Five Guys you know that a regular fry is supposed to be like 1/3 of a bag. It's supposed to be enough for 2+ people. Y'all. Look at my picture. That is all they gave me. For $8! Ridiculous. So I took the bag up and asked for more fries, and the employee rolled her eyes, sighed, and gave me one more little cup. That's it. If I wanted a sigh from an employee being asked to do their job, and a small portion of fries, I'd go to a fast food place and pay half as much.
If inflation has hit the price of potatoes or fry oil, and they need to reduce portions, that's fine - but they need to TELL people so they know they're gonna get 1/4 the portion of fries they've always gotten at Five Guys - including at this very store just a few weeks ago.
I'm sure I'll be back, because I do like the food here, but I will be asking about portion size before I buy fries, and you...
Read moreFood always taste good but each time I come here it feels like from the time I order it takes longer and longer for the food to be ready. For example, on 6/18 I placed an online order at 7:33pm and my email confirmation said the order should be ready by 7:45pm. My food wasn’t ready until 7:57. The place wasn’t busy by any means. Also, the amount of fries I’ve been getting is less and less. I got a regular fry and was like I ordered a little fry and didn’t get that extra scoop you normally would get.
7/26 edit - I ordered from this location via DoorDash. I had a little bacon cheeseburger and a hotdog. Received it pretty quickly which was nice as this was my dinner. The food taste great but after a couple of hours or so which was just after 10pm, I had to camp out in the bathroom. Currently just at midnight I can’t go to sleep as my stomach is in knots and can’t hold down water. Whatever I ate from here must have been bad. I then started to look at other reviews of other people getting sick shortly after eating from this location. This will be...
