J&C Crab - Juicy Seafood — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I’d give zero stars if I could. We have been customers ever since they opened and we eat there once a week. Today we ordered our usual take out and due to our miscommunication we ordered the wrong special which is easy to mix up when we usually order the 1 pound shrimp and 1/2 pound snow. Instead we got 1 pound snow and 1/2 pound shrimp. We had already peeled our shrimp and noticed that there just wasn’t the usual amount in there. So we called and spoke with someone about it in a very nice manner and only ended up feeling like they really could care less and we were told to bring the food back including all the shrimp we peeled. So I tossed all the stuff in the bag with my dirty gloves and dirty used paper towel. So we come back, hand over our previous order filled with my gloves and garbage and pick up our fresh order. Once we got back and opened our “FRESH” Order I immediately noticed all the old shrimp I peeled in the new bag all dried up and over cooked with the new shrimp. Let’s not forget that we tossed our trash into that bag with the old shrimp. So this told me that they dug through our trash, picked out the old shrimp and tossed it into our “ NEW” order. All I can say is that is completely unprofessional and disgusting. Makes me wonder what other disgusting food practices they have. They took our weekly business and have happily ushered us over to St. John’s seafood right down the street. So if you enjoy eating food that may have been on someone else’s plate or even in the garbage don’t eat here. If they would have handed us “ FRESH FOOD” and a smile this review wouldn’t have happened and we’d still be loyal patrons of their establishment. Customer service is important and the ladies working the counter are a mix bag of one was completely nice and sincere while the other asked me questions in English then rambled on in their language and gave me a hard time. So here we go it a Friday evening and I came here with my family. Everything is going great until I ordered I wanted 2 items off of the fried menu after getting the run around about price since there is not a pick 2 option I just order for my children and decided not to eat. After a while the manager came by a fixed the issue cool so I ordered. What a minute yall thought I was finished NOPE. So the waitress rudely interrupts the manager to ask if she should cancel my cousins order (which was for me! I was gonna be forced to eat!!) So she brings out the checks then doubles back to pick all 3 of them up because Gratuities were not added soooo that sums up to a $35+ tip which is not deserved. The end result is poor service still getting rewarded. This review did have 2 stars due to the manager fixing my issue, it has dropped back down to one due to the fact that we are being forced to pay for services that were not worth it. My first time & definitely NOT my last! I decided to give this place a try after having the taste for shrimp but not wanting to spend anymore money or time at Juicy crab on Blanding due to consecutive deplorable experiences from fraudulent card usage and manager treatment to name a few. I googled “crab houses” and I always look at reviews and rating. I saw the rating was good and reviews were fairly good and since I don’t live in Jacksonville it was important that I pick right. I ordered shrimp and sausage, while the parking lot needs a lot of work, I walked in and there hostess was present and greeted me immediately, she directed me where to go to pick up my order I placed online. I got to the counter and was helped in a timely fashion with great service and respect, the dining room wasn’t obnoxiously loud and staff all seemed to be productive and ready to assist if need be. My food was correct and delicious! I was so impressed and excited to know that while I may have to drive further out I can assuredly get seafood that is of quality and quantity whenever I’m in town!
