While visiting the area, I had been hiking all day and simply wanted a healthy meal to take back to the place I was staying. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately relaxed. The colors, the design, the vibe, everything was so calming. Brenda greeted me right away and made me feel right at home (even when I felt grungy with how I was dressed!). So I decided to stay and eat there. She and the rest of the staff could not be more accommodating. I got a chance to speak with Brenda at length because I was there mid-afternoon and there weren't any dine-ins other than myself. She was super nice and presented with a genuine interest in conversation. Her vibe matched the atmosphere of the restaurant - I wish there were more servers like her! The food was top notch and I was impressed with all of the healthy, clean options between the bowls, the smoothies, etc.. There are bowl places near where I live and there are smoothie places but none come even close to this place. Smoothies aren't just about throwing fruit together. This place gave you a choice of whey or vegan protein powder, the base was with coconut water and they actually had not one but two leafy greens as ingredients. This place understands what clean eating is and I pray we get something like this near me one day. PS - they even have heated...
Read moreI’ll start by saying the food and atmosphere here in most ways are great. I’m giving 1 star because there is a menu item that says it’s vegan (the pancakes) and it isn’t vegan, and when I asked the waitress she casually said “oh yeah that’s not vegan we need to change that.” She was even a little rude when I said that really should be updated asap. But when we had ordered it the day before no one mentioned it wasn’t vegan (I was assuming some sort of vegan ricotta was used.) My daughter i’m nursing has a dairy allergy and me eating those pancakes ended up getting dairy into her system. I’m thankful her allergy isn’t more severe but other people’s might be and this could be dangerous! I would really expect to see more of a sense of urgency to update the menu accurately or at least let everyone know who orders the pancakes in advance that they aren’t vegan. There is also an egg bowl that says it is vegan on the menu. At least cross the symbol out with a marker or something while you wait to change the menu! I’m nervous for any mom that feeds their kids these things if their kids have some sort of severe dairy allergy and I hope all the other symbols on the menu are accurate because you can’t trust that they are I guess. I would love this...
Read moreI will preface by saying I did not get to try the food, so my rating is based on customer service alone.
The restaurant’s ambiance is gorgeous in photos and it was even prettier in person. The issue I ran into was customer service. I am currently on crutches following a knee surgery, but I was so excited to get out of the house and experience the restaurant. I walked in to 2 ladies behind the counter and the menus are in baskets near the door. My focus was getting to the counter, so I did not grab a menu while I was crunching along. Once I was about past the menus almost to the counter one of the ladies pointed behind me to the menus. So I hobbled to turn and go back for a menu to then crutch back to the counter. Once I got to the counter neither of the ladies spoke. No help was offered nor was there a greeting from anyone. We all just stood there in silence until the restaurant got a phone call and one of the ladies stepped away to take it. I ended up leaving at that point because it was so uncomfortable.
The restaurant seemed fairly busy, so I hope my experience was outside...
