The korean food is a 2/10. The mackerel was straight out of the freezer and dry, and the squid tasted old and poorly seasoned. I won’t say it tasted spoiled but also, it did. I am korean and I was baffled by how she treated my friend and the people around me. How do you have no customers and also talk down to people who come there to eat. There are some places where the crudeness of the restaurant staff is excused by the quality of the food. This place isn’t it. I was embarrassed by the rudeness and frank racism of the waitress/ owner. Her yelling at the couple who sat near us for not ordering something to drink fast enough felt like I was being pranked.
The food tasted careless and lacking in quality. You’re selling literally defrosted meals for 25 dollars. The soft tofu soup that she sells is a pre frozen pack that costs 2.50 she boils with sliced soft tofu from Publix. The mackerel was in the shape of the plastic it came in.
My friends, just go to an Asian grocery store, buy jarred marinade and pour it over sliced beef with an onion. Keep in fridge for 30 min. Stir fry over hot pan.
She also v aggressively asked us multiple times how the food was. We took the food to go because we didn’t want to offend her. We threw it out in the garbage outside the nail salon.
Will not return due to sheer embarrassment of knowing anyone I bring to this place will be racially profiled and mistreated and because the food tastes unacceptable for sale. I want to tell you that the Indian restaurant and the ceviche restaurant and the euro grocery store next to this place is so good. Masala has some of the best aloo I’ve ever tasted.
The fact that she sells such low tier korean food and people are raving about it makes me a little sad. I’ll have you over for dinner friends. Come to my house. I was so excited because we live so close to this place and I want to celebrate and support my fellow countrymen but this is very shameful behavior and quality of what is publicly korean food is substandard. I’m sad Floridians will think this is...
Read moreThis restaurant seemed to be so well reviewed and recommended that I decided to take the family to try out this restaurant. I very infrequently write negative reviews unless it was truly a jarring experience.
Firstly, to its credit, the food is pretty good. Pretty authentic from what I can tell. The portions are fairly small for the price, but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, if it were for the food, I may consider coming again.
But that’s where the positives basically stop. We have been to many Korean restaurants all over the US, so we know what service usually is provided. Our server, who was also the owner, took our order 3-4 times, and while some people might find her stern demeanor to be “home like”, I found it rather rude and she was extremely forgetful.
We were 4 people and a baby, so we ordered 3 entrees (which based on the price being 30+ assumed it would be a decent amount of food for 4 people including 2 elderly people who do not eat much to begin with. We also ordered an appetizer, which again we chose a fairly pricy appetizer. All this is to say was that we got chastised for asking for just a few more Banchan plates, and also saying that we should be glad she didn’t charge us a “sharing fee” (which on the menu is for the Budae jjigae family meal). I have never heard of a sharing fee in a regular Korean restaurant for someone sharing an entree when we ordered 4 fully priced items. The amount of Banchan given was fairly little for 3 full entrees, and we have never been nickled and dimed for Banchan by any other Korean restaurant we have ever been to. Plus, whether she was lying to us or not, many Banchan items were missing, all of which happened to be the higher cost better Banchan.
I would not come here again. If the owner was just a little bit more generous - we basically at most asked for something that would have cost them about $1 at most, they have lost what would have been...
Read moreLet me start with saying the bathroom smells awful, which is apparently a known problem since there’s about 30 or more LUV car wash air fresheners hanging everywhere in there.
Next, we wanted to cook our food. Attempted to order Galbi and spicy pork bulgogi. The owner told us we aren’t allowed to cook both of those on the grill and that if we wanted it, she would have to cook it. I’ve eaten at, and COOKED both of these dishes at multiple Korean restaurants in multiple states and have never been told we were not ALLOWED to cook them on the table grill. Seems to me this is because she didn’t want to put extra work into cleaning the grill in between the marinated meats.
Then we attempted to choose which small side dish we wanted because we knew we wouldn’t eat the others. She said NO, and we get what comes out. So when alllll the different dishes came out, we didn’t eat the ones we didn’t like. Then when we asked for more kimchi and only three specific side dishes, she said to tell her next time beforehand so WE don’t waste food. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 like what kind of mind game is this?
Then when our rice came out, I asked for soy sauce. She wanted me to try the meat without soy sauce, and I said it’s for my rice. Then told me “You don’t know how to eat.” Excuse me…. My grandmother is 100% Korean. She uses soy sauce on her rice.
Also, the Galbi was not the correct meat. I’ve cooked this at home, my grandmother has cooked this for my entire life, and I order it at EVERY Korean restaurant I’ve been to. The meat we had was not spare ribs. It looked, tasted, and felt like a regular steak, with barely even any marination flavor on it. By far the WORST Galbi I’ve ever ate.
I have never felt so judged, uncomfortable, and disappointed in a Korean restaurant before. We will not be going back, and hate we wasted our drive time and money.
And this was a celebratory dinner for my fiancée getting over a 9 day...
