Iām giving this establishment 1 star because the food is good. But SERVICE IS EVERYTHING. This is a concept I donāt think these people understand. My sister and I bought Groupons for food and was told that only one of us was allowed to use it. The woman at the register was rude and told me, āyou should read the instructions!ā Out of courtesy and so I can make her look like the a** she was, I pulled out my phone and pulled up the Groupon with my voucher which clearly listed āOne coupon per customer per visitā and she pulled out a different sheet and insisted that I read it. I told her no! I was going to go by what the Groupon said considering thatās what the basis of my purchases was on. She went back and forth with me about Groupons we purchased days ahead of our visit!!!!? She kept saying āper visit!ā And I told her, honey no matter how many times you repeat āper visitā doesnāt take away from the fact that āPER CUSTOMERā was listed on the Groupon. My sister and I were paying separately, therefore we should have been able to use our coupons we purchased separately! She refused to read what the Groupon said and told my sister she would not honor it. She then added the fact that she spoke with the manager about it who would tell me the same thing. I will never spend another dime at this restaurant. Unprofessional and rude. We will be getting a refund for the Groupon. Hopefully this review helps someone.
Update *This is to respond back to the company who replied with something that couldnāt be less genuine. If moving a table to connect to another for a bigger party is considered going above and beyond, thatās a shame. No other vouchers were redeemed, so Iām not sure what youāre referring to. And letās be clear, the only way to appear on Groupon is by signing a contract for advertisement. So how are you not affiliated? The Groupon for verification lists your location address and the name of your restaurant. I doubt you would have been able to enter my voucher code if you were not affiliated with them. Iāve been to many restaurants that donāt limit coupons to a table or family. Itās ONE PER TAB! The matter of the fact is that if we all walked in separately like we initially did and hadnāt asked for a table to seat everyone, every last one of us would have been able to use our coupons. Itād be best for you to admit that you simply put up false advertisement to get business and when customers arrive, you deny the voucher. Iāve already reported this to groupon to have you removed for false advertisement. And I will be reporting this to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stop by this place because my bro had tried their food and always enjoyed the food truck and figured the restaurant would be as good. WRONG!! Service was horrible. We step in around lunch (12ish) and were told they were not doing table services so to order from the menu upfront or the buffet. No welcomes, no let me help with a high chair, no kind approach whatsoever!! I was ok⦠no biggy, so we Walk to see the menu and the ladies were being annoying asking if we were ready to order like every second. So we both order the stuff mofongo, mines was a la plancha and bros was with garlic as well other appetizers like the empanadillas and relleno de papa after them not having any of the other appetizers I wanted. But whatever⦠we go sit down with a number they gave me and all they did was bring the drinks and food. The drinks were HOT, no cup with ice, and cold appetizers. My bro had to walk up to them and request cups with ice. The empanadas were the skinniest I have ever seen! The little bit of Favored chicken was ok but my goodness ⦠SERIOUSLY NO MEAT!! Like nothing!! The rellenos were very good and nicely stuffed thou! Maybe the best I have had in any Puerto Rican spot. Anyways we get our food, not how we expected to be presented, the mofongo has a typical puertorican style of displayā¦. Usually a pillon is involved and decorated with a nice bed of lettuce and tomatoes ā¦. but okkkk seguimos hay hambre. I noticed my bros mofongo is drenched in garlic sauce and heās struggling to eat it and as soon as i tasted mined⦠all I tasted was SALT!! no flavor just salt! We couldnāt finish itā¦bro had to buy water bottles which were hot . So I decide Iāll give the dessert a try and nothing look appetizing so instead I asked for the limber and of course they didnāt have the flavor but only coconut was availableā¦at this point Iām so annoyed and ask if they can break a $20 (so I can leave a tip although it was crappy service and food and just leave) and the girl says no until I mentioned it was to leave a tip, then she went and grab someone else to open the cashier. Then I asked if I can get a to go cup and she said they didnāt have that. So I end up pouring my drink with the little bit of ice in my baby sippy cup to take with meā¦. Never going back, we were so disappointed! It felt like we were disturbing them too much as they chitchat and goofed around. Every interaction with any of the staff was dry, not even a smile. Place got potential⦠consider replacing your staff! Definitely no homie...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI should start by saying this a long review, the longest I have ever posted but they deserve it.
I'm a white male and enjoy mostly trying different cultures cuisines with places that do not Americanized the dishes and serve authentic dishes.
Brought along two experts one being a vendor KForce Staffing highly recommend Alexandra Gonzalez along with of my techs who moved here from Puerto Rico about 5 years ago.
Now for the review. Wow, they have many, many choices from items on a menu to a hot bar can pick from a chicken, fish, pork and the day we were there were two different chicken and pork dishes along with several side items from their hot bar.
I had oven braised pork with the customary piece of fried pork skin.
They had three types of rice and one looked interesting it was rice with my guides said is well cooked little bundles of rice from the bottom of the skillet.
I was the only white male which nobody made me feel different and always a good sign when you see everyone else the same culture with a mixed age crowd. Several were seniors so another indicator must be good food and authentic.
The server sensed I may not like it and try sample first. Glad she offered the sample. It had great flavor but too crunchy. I like soft, fluffy rice and they had that and the serving size was like two extra large servings! Then some mixed vegetables.
Everything was perfect and generous size servings.
My guides had a pork ear dish and a steak sandwich. I wish in front of me to know the name dishes but this was not a standard fair steak sandwich and as I was told is unique to P.R.
They also have a huge desert menu offerings, more like in mini bakery. I was to full to try anything other than a sample of a mango cake.
I'm going to back tomorrow they are closed on Sunday.
I will have a menu this time to know the names.
Very nice staff, pricing is a bargain for the choices and massive serving sizes.
If a neighboring bussines on either side of them should close they need to consider the space. The dining area...
